That is not an NVDA question.
Anyway, go to Tools, Options, General, and navigate to the level 1 heading "incoming messages". Right below that are checkboxes that tell Thunderbird how you want to be

Re: some messages are very slow in Outlook
I notice some messages are slow, such as messages from;
Amazon, audible, my bank, yes, messages from buisnesses.
Regular mail from individuals or email lists are fine.

Re: some messages are very slow in Outlook
Bob,
I have seen this and suspect the problem is the HTML markup of the messages. Uber's messages would have some very cluttered HTML and perhaps javascript which could be slowing NVDA down.

A couple things you can try, in addition to Jackie's suggestion:
First, in NVDA, press NVDA+control+r three times quickly, which will reset your configuration to factory defaults.

NVDA does keep the c:\users\x\AppData\Roaming\NVDA folder after uninstalling. Delete that after you uninstall, then reinstall again.

Re: NVDA not reading books in kindle book viewer
It's part of your subscription, but you still pay for that subscription, and are therefore paying for the book. You have every right to complain to Amazon and the publisher.
