In the early days of 64 bit Firefox, I don’t recall hearing about performance problems with the browser, but there were not many 64 bit add-ons so switching meant that you were losing one of the

Downgrading, I don't believe...
But, you can remove the 64-bit version and install the 32-bit version.
It gaves always an error when starting, but it works...

OK...that's strange! Are you able to use another version of Adobe Reader for the time being? I'm not sure if NVAccess or someone in the add-ons community can do something about it, or better yet,

Could you try running the COM Registry Fixing Tool in the Tools menu, then restart the machine, and see if this persists?
