I've found the best way to update or install Java is through NINITE. If I try to update using Java itself, it always gets to about half way through downloading and then errors out and fails but Ninite

Thanks for confirming this. It's the same with my Seika Touchme5; that doesn't bother me at all, but my friend is new to NVDA and Windows 10, and his old braille display (a Powerbraille of some sort)

I personally wouldn't want this. I see no real advantage to it as nothing is moving across the screen as the mouse pointer does and that's where the panning feature works great. If

I use Braille Edge and it's the same with me. When Braille Edge is
used as a display the only way to operate it is via the computer. When
used as a notetaker than the controls work.

It could, if the sounds are the same. I think progress bar sounds could be different, lower sounds, like the progress bar of updating NVDA or installing an addon.
