Re: Making Portable NVDA
Ah I see. I figured that would be set up already, either because newer UEFI comes with that by default, I think, or it had already been done.

Making NVDA automatically read non-English characters.
So I've got a friend on Twitter who wrote their username in runes. I
know Windows can deal with them, because they're part of the Unicode
charset. But their tweets show up with no username. That's not

Yes. Doing a completely clean reinstall involves changing the boot order in UEFI/BIOS to look for the USB media first in that order. There is no screen reader support without an operating system

Do you need sighted assistance? You can generate install media from Windows, and when you boot from the media, you should be able to activate Narrator.

Can't speak to the NVDA Remote part, though it could be related. As far as NVDA updates, see: Update Checking Error for NVDA and Add-On Updater - Root Cause Identified, Workaround Given, Problem

Since a few days I am not able to check nvda updates add-on updates or

Hi
Windows feature updates require manual invocation, they do not normally happen automatically and if the machine manages to get to the log-in screen, one of the shortcuts I mentioned previously

Optacon?
Yes, if you listen to these folks about old technology, you must give up your Optacon, your AM radio, your perkins brailler, ... anything that has been superseded by modrern technology.

Re: My Wish list, various issues.

The questions are: Does it do what you need it to? Does it need any special care and feeding up through exceptional measures to make it keep doing so?
If the answers are "yes," and "no,"

Sally,
Many thanks for confirming and sorry I was unable to test. I believe NVAccess are planning to make UIA being enabled the default.

I didn’t know internet explorer was completely gone. I thought it was supposed to be completely gone in June of next year.
