It is part and part. When the synth sees an upper case letter, it says the word capital, which is correct of course. Even if you turn off capitals in NVDA, it still throws upper case letters. So

I think this is because the beep option unhelpfully comes through the PC speaker, instead of your soundcard. Some PCs don’t have a PC speaker any more, so the beep sound won’t work for them.

I believe it is saying Capital before each uppercase letter. Doing as you described with speech viewer just shows the letters I typed and does not have cap or capital shown.

Hi Sharon and Sarah, what I did was exit NVDa while I was in a meeting. When I wanted out I would start it or Jaws to exit the meeting. I myself would just go into the settings and find all this out.

That would be nice! I can't really focus on the meeting while I hear "so and so joined' etc. I didn't see anything in settings, although I could have missed it.

The SAPI version isn't an add-on. It will work with any program that supports SAPI. Also, it is only for Eloquence. The add-on provides both Eloquence and the Vocalizer synthesizers.
