That's a different feature than the beeps you can cycle on with NVDA key s. Its those that members are expressing skepticism about.

I don't get any beeps at all in the command prompt when text is scrolling, so either the beeps mode doesn't work in the command prompt, or my beeps are broken.

Thanks everyone,
I might send the developer a note and ensure they are aware of the issues, but looks like this one isn't a viable alternative for now.

Yes progress set to beep, It was Mick or Maybe James that told me about 10 years ago about the beeps and the reason to have them.

Re: Bug report and mouse
Hi Farhan,
If you have NVDA running, you can press NVDA+f1 which opens the log viewer - you can then press CONTROL+A to select all, CONTROL+C to copy, move to an email and press CONTROL+V to paste it

After rebooting once does the problem still persist Brian? And this is with Beta4?
Has anyone else come across this?

Hi,
The beeps are great in my situation! At least I know something is happening on screen when updating or downloading.

I've never seen any purpose for the feature. In addition, the beeps are soft and high pitch. Why a feature such as that would have such soft and high pitched beeps is something I don't know. I
