Re: Addon updater
Joseph, if I might suggest something. For versions of nvda before the last stable ones, maybe you could engineer an add on updater which will not update itself until nvda itself updates but does

Yes and if like me you downloaded the add ons and installed them then the ability to use add on updateer is no longer available. This seems to be happening for any version of nvda prior to the last

I probably wouldn’t try and rescue the computer I would take the hard drive out of it and connect it to a working computer and extract the documents
A good few years ago I did do voluntary work

I have had ram sticks fail, and ports fail.
I have had also got things that just went with unexpected results.
A video card or tv card can do dammage a lot of that.
A busted user

Actually, using the app it's way easier. However, as I'm most of the time using my computer, the app isn't something that I use that often, not really.
Oh yep, I forgot to mention. Using

I haven’t tried the YouTube app
And different browsers display the content differently
And different operating systems as well

Hello folks,
Does anyone know how one can find, perhaps more easily than I've been doing, the comments' section on a YouTube video?
It seems like a bit of a random thing when and where it

Re: rescue disc for the blind?
at post #2. That's what I deduced too. Still, if anyone knows of any rescue packages for the blind, they would be of good use. Plus, I can add these to the NVDA wiki. If I get some links, that is.

Hi,
Hmmm. I think you hit the timeout issue mentioned by some on this list: after getting a notice about NVDA add-on updates, you must act within five minutes to download updates for some add-ons

It's NVDA 2018.4.1. No, I usually just turn the computer on, leave the room, let it do its booting, then come in a few minutes later once it's booted up.

Re: Addon updater
Hi,
Okay, what is the version of NVDA you are using? Also, when you get a notification about Emoticons update, did you say "update" within five minutes of getting it?
Cheers,
Joseph

Hi,
I'm on the Alpha channel.
So let's say, if I still choose to wait beyond the 2019.0.2.2, from this point I'll be able to update it automatically?
Cheers,

Hi,
Depends on which NVDA version you’ve got:
2018.4.1: manual update is mandatory.
Alpha/beta: automatic update will work.

Hi Joseph,
If I choose to wait for the next version of add-on updater, will I still need to update it manually or can I simply update from the version I have right now to the newer one?
