Re: Setting NVDA audio device output?
We have had reports before on here that many things switch on auto but nvda does not. I suspect this might be on purpose as if for instance you are outputting music you would not want the speech to

You actually brought up the point that I forgot to bring up in my last message lol.
Anyways, I'm not sure as well; and I think the lack of keyboard shortcuts is probably my biggest complaints about

When you open Skype 8, NVDA treats it just like a normal web page. So if you can navigate the web using NVDA, then you can navigate around the interface of the new Skype 8 as well.

As a business student, I wonder how viable as a business model it would be if I was to set up a firm dedicated to providing NVDA tech support and consultant for organizations.

Re: Add-on development: contracts, Python and such
Hi Brian
I would agree if standards were followed and stuff labeled etc
correctly. I got told if it was done correctly the developers would not
have to do as much on there side but sadly they do

Re: Setting NVDA audio device output?
I finally found it. It's not just synth settings. You need to go to change synth and even though I didn't want to change synth, the first option in there is set sound output device. I got it sorted

Okay, thanks for the clarification. Well, if any company would do it, it'd be Microsoft.

Re: New to list, newbie question, everything new starts here I guess
Learning Windows 10 is a lot less challenging than learning Windows 8/8.1 was, since Windows 8/8.1 made a tectonic shift in the UI where it was presumed that pretty much all the world would be using

Windows 8 was a complete failure, nobody liked it, and it was a bit buggy. However, windows 8.1 fixed most of the issues folks had with the os, and many many folks use windows 8.1 every single day,

I just get a new HP monitor. It is showing it has a sound device and that it is working and ready. I check in volume control and NVDA isn't showing up there anywhere. I try to find where in NVDA to

Indeed. When it comes to technology one very often has to go with what a given employer will support.
Reasonable accommodations does not mean "getting precisely what I want" but "getting the tools

Left shift plus left alt key stil works for me. This has to be enabled in settings though, but it’s a one time deal and forget about it.

switching keyboard language/was/Re: [nvda] bookmarks in firefox
This post mentions switching keyboard language in Win10 being easy. It's posted on a thread about something else, though, and I have not seen a thread with subject line regarding keyboard language
