The issue is with the add-on. The message you get has to do with add-on API level - the latest API compatibility level is 2021.1. It is possible for add-on authors to specify a newer NVDA release

Have a look under settings then mouse then report mouse shape changes and then un check the box.
that should do the trick make sure you save the settings after done.

Use escape to return to browse mode. You are automatically going into forms mode and you need to leave it to continue to move.

What I have worked out is this.
For me, if you get an HTML Email, then it will be read entirely. If the Email is a text Email as opposed to HTML, you’ll only get

I've got the same situation as you do with regard to up/down arrows. But, I constantly forget that Gene has the NVDA default behavior of auto-switching between browse and focus mode turned
