Did by chance, speak command keys get turned off? You can turn this
back on by pressing NVDA+4.

Open the menu, there is just one, with alt f. Hold alt and press f. Don't press and release alt and then type f.

Does the person just want to listen to files? If that's all, then a tutorial is real overkill. If the person wants to do things like work with playlists, rip and burn files, and perhaps other things

I'd heartily suggest the K-Lite codec pack though on 10. Its pretty good and seemed to fix many problems I had. Certainly I have it on 7 with no ite and if you don't like some choices of player you

That is silly. I used it on windows 10 with no issues.
The only issue is that file associations need often to be Manually tweaked due to the way win 10 tries to protect the default
