Hello there,
Try enabling draft view in word. If you're just reading a document, that might help.
Best regards.
Francisco.

Has anyone reported this on github? I would check there and comment with machine specs, logs etc.

Re: nvda lagging
Hi Robert
You are quite right, it is confusing.
The worse of it, with me, it even lags in Windows explorer.
It needs to be attended to as urgently as possible.

Re: Excel: detecting shading on cells
It could also matter what versions of NVDA, Excel, and even, possibly, Windows are in the mix.
Knowing what version(s) of NVDA and Excel are in use would be a very good set of data points to have.

The problem being that even this, as written, would require guessing. I'd say Jay twenty-six ess simply because I'd instantly change a designation such as this to its more typical uppercase

I tried your method and they both work so people may use whichever they want.

Re: Weird Abbreviation Processing Mid-word?
I'm running Windows 10, 1h1, build 1943, NVDA 2021.2 driving MS OneVoice David, and I have these number problems in many cases.
One example is that j26s is pronounced
jay twenty s i x s
instead of
j
