If NVDA started by itself after NVDA key q, that’s because the program wasn’t shutting down properly. It was crashing on exit and it was restarting because it is supposed to restart if it can

Couple issues with newest NVDA version
Hi, I just noticed that when I choose restart after pressing NVDA + Q, NVDA seems to exit and then not start up again on its own. I have to press the shortcut keys to start NVDA again. I've tried this

I know there was somethingn on google news today about https certificates etc that expired. Could this have happened with nvda's site, or anywhere else that could have an effect on what's going

Who knows, however who knows, Its more likely a lot of certs got updated at once, I just got updates to chrome, edge, windows, and a bunch of other things all of a sudden.

Hmph, well it wasn't just the update addon but nvda update checker itself.
Update check and the addon update seem to work again but it did this yesterday so we will see

Well the update mysteriously fixed itself but who knows how long that will stay.
I did install the latest windows cu but things were still broken after that, so who knows if it will not

I don’t know how the add-on determines if the site has proper certification. I would think others could discuss that. It may be that the add-on can’t determine the site is certified. The first

Hmmm just tried in edge and still can get access.
I just got the latest windows optional cu, so if I had a bad cert, well I wouldn't be able to get updates and windows automatically

Your assumption, though it appears logical, isn’t correct. Firefox doesn’t rely on Windows for certification. It has its own certifications, or whatever the correct term is.

I can access nvda-project.org, nvaccess.org and the nvaccess.com redirect just fine at least via the web.
I can download from both manually.
Just did an ipconfig/flushdns and I got back

Its semi inconsistant, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
If its a cert is nvda itself needing an update with the right certs or something.
It can't effect a load of us and not
