Janet, I'm so sorry, yes of course it is control+shift+e. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I wrote the first reply! Track changes only monitors changes made while the feature is active. If track changes was on when a change was made, NVDA will read it as you navigate. If there are changes not being reported, it is likely that track changes was not enabled when that change was made So, if I have a document with "Hello Fred" in it, if I turn on track changes, delete "Hello" and type "Goodbye". As I read that line, NVDA will read "Deleted Hello, Inserted Goodbye, Not inserted Fred". If I turn off track changes, then delete Fred and type Jane, NVDA will read: "Deleted Hello, Inserted Goodbye, Not inserted Jane". Also if you "accept" or "reject" any changes, the text will either be changed or reverted, and either way will no longer appear as a change. If you can give me an example where you have Track changes on, Word is recording the change and NVDA is not reporting it, I'd be interested to investigate. Kind regards Quentin.

I use Last Pass. With NVDA is confortable, and well, if you can the passwork manager also in other devices, in Android in my case is also accessible. I can a good experience with the extension for the browsers in Windows and the website. Hello again Quinten,
It seems that the hot key for turning on/off tracking changes in Word is not control-shift-R but rather control-shift-e. I had to get sighted help to find this out. It looks like I am going to have to get significant sighted help to complete this project as NVDA is not always reliable about reading whether or not things have been deleted or changed.

Hi Janet,
Press control+shift+r to turn track changes on or off. While on, any change you make to the document is recorded and can be approved or rejected later.
With NVDA in browse mode (NVDA+spacebar) you can jump between tracked changes as annotations (a or shift+a). You can then use the context menu to accept or reject individual changes.

You can install as many add-ons as you wish. When you run the portable version of NVDA, you have an option to create an installed version. In the tools submenu there is an item to install NVDA. The dialog that comes up has a number of check boxes. One of them says, Copy portable configuration to current user account.

The machines in question are remote VMs and may be reset at frequent instances so I would like to avoid me, and other potential users having to re-configure NVDA. I notice that creating a portable copy of NVDA is an option, but I have a few questions regarding that. 1. Can I install additional addons in the portable copy of NVDA? 2. There was a period where the "Allow editing in cells" setting was very important, but that should have been fixed long ago (and even when it was problematic, it simply wouldn't read the formula, it didn't hang or crash). Have you got any add-ons installed? If you press NVDA+Q then down arrow to "Restart with add-ons disabled" does it make a difference? Could you get me a copy of your NVDA log to have a look at please, ideally at debug level? Please send it attached to an email to info@.... Include a description of what you have done and what isn't working as it should (so I know what it's about in case I don't get to investigate today). First of all, your NVDA key is either INSERT or CAPS LOCK, depending on how you have NVDA setup. So, to set your log level: 1) Press NVDA+control+g to open the general settings 2) Press TAB until the focus is on 'Log level' 3) Press DOWN ARROW to get to 'Debug' 4) Press ENTER to close settings 5) Press NVDA+control+c to save settings. To restart NVDA with add-ons disabled: 1) Press NVDA+Q 2) Down arrow to 'Restart with add-ons disabled' 3) Press ENTER Next, recreate the issue - do whatever causes problems. To get NVDA's log after that, there are several ways: If NVDA is still running and usable: 1) Press NVDA+F1 to open the log viewer 2) Press CONTROL+A to select all. 3) Press CONTROL+C to copy. 4) Open your email and start a message to info@..., type a little about what you have done and what has happened in the body of the message, then leave a space and: 5) Press CONTROL+V to paste the copied log. Instead of using the log viewer, or if NVDA has stopped and you needed to restart it or the computer: 1) Press WINDOWS+R to open Windows' Run dialog 2) Type %temp% and press ENTER (that's the percent sign, the letter t e m p and another percent sign). Windows Explorer should open to the temporary folder. 3) Press TAB to move to the file list 4) Press N and move down to find up to three files: nvda.log (the log file for the current or most recent NVDA session), nvda-old.log (the log from the previous session) and nvda-crash.dmp (a crash dump with more information created if NVDA itself crashes). 5) Depending on what email program you use, the steps will be different, but attach as many of those three files to an email to info@... as will be useful, and again in the body of the message describe a bit about what has happened.

Good Afternoon: If Thunder Bird has been running and you press the alt + f4 and this silenece. Then Press the Alt + t to see what is running and you hear Thunder Bird, then press the application key and arrow down to refresh in windows 10. Then press the alt + f4 to close it out. The other answer is yes there can be applications running in the background and they won't be shown on the taskbar. It is like the old answer of don't assume anything in windows. It's like they are hidden from the screen readers of the taskbar.

I can, and will, get into this on the Chat Subgroup if you open a new topic there and, as part of that, describe what you want to be seeing after you do a search (in general terms).
I suspect that you're wanting a list of messages just like you'd have in your inbox, but limited to those that match the search. In which case, you'd need to activate the Show results as list control on the initial results page. You may also wish to switch the sort by from relevance (default) to date before doing so, if you're interested in date sorted message order. When you open search, the defaultis to search subject. You can tab to a combo box where you change what field will be searched in. Tab further to an edit field where you type what you want to search for, then press enter.

Hi. It looks like I've received a couple of messages from this group that indicate that they're from the chat subgroup, because the word [chat] also appears in the subject line. I'm not sure of the titles off the top of my head. I am not subscribed to the chat subgroup, so I don't get messages from it. I'm not certain who I should've contacted about this issue, but when you post a new topic on the web interface, it goes to the entire group. I couldn't find a button to send it to the group owner. I use the web interface rather than posting through E-mail.

Well, I have been using the search field that is on the screen. I hadn't tried using the ctrl+f keystroke. When I use the search field then try to tab to the list I get the full list of emails not the search results.
I will try the ctrl+f keystroke and see if that behaves differently.
