Is it there when you go through the items with a screen-reader running?Gene, You hit the nail on the head. It does appear when I have NVDA running and does not when I do not. New Edge does not appear to have Accessibility settings (or at least not under that moniker). Brave does not either, under that or image or describ (I didn't bother completing the word, as that should be enough to get any variant), yet the option for the context menu pops up. This is the first time I've seen a browser settings be sensitive to whether a screen reader is running at the time or not. This certainly makes sense when it's accessibility settings, though it does pose some dangers in terms of sighted assistants trying to assist by looking on their own machines (which will often not have a screen reader at all - or not one that they know how to run). I'll have to see if this is picked up when running JAWS and Narrator later. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 . . . the presumption of innocence, while essential in the legal realm, does not mean the elimination of common sense outside it. Re: Reading Graphics with NVDA
What's even more interesting is that I cannot get the image description item to come up when bringing up the context menu in Chrome, either. Nor in new Chromium-based Edge.
By contrast, if I do exactly the same thing in Brave, on the same webpage for the same image, a "Get image descriptions from Brave" item appears, and its submenu is "always" and "just once." -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 . . . the presumption of innocence, while essential in the legal realm, does not mean the elimination of common sense outside it. Its on mine as well. I've turned on and off this feature using the context menu but I don't see why that would cause it not to be available in the advanced settings. It’s a toggle button.

I wrote the last step incorrectly, but that's what I meant. I meant NVDA Space to turn on browse mode again but I wrote NVDA a instead. I'm glad you caught the error. I check my messages before I send them but sometimes I don't catch something even when I read it again.

When it is turned on in google it will do it for the whole page. it might take a little time to know what they are but is pretty quick. I used it on tvnz on demand to know what the shows/movies were as these were un labled graphics. After it was done I jumped down by graphics and I knew what they all were pretty much. Worth turning on if you have a the google browser. Gene nz

Hi

if using google chrome do the following and it can also be done in the settings part. The easiest way is use the applications key while on a web page then arrow down to get image descriptions from google there is a sub menu that comes off it one is for once and the other is always/ Pick the always one then press the enter key. It will give you a message saying what ever some thing likeit it will need to be sent to google any how just say yes to the pop up and then after that most un labled graphics will be spoken out. it can also be reversed by turning it off but you will not. I used it on tvnz on demand to read out all the un labled graphics for the show/movies there and works a treat. Turn it off none of the show/movies are spoken out. In this case I had to jump down by graphics to know what they were. as if I just done it by link it just said new episode. It does not work on every graphic but does a very good job cconsidering AI is used I am told. Gene nz

Try Silenzio. It’s a small utility that generates inaudible signals to keep speakers sound cards from timing out when there is no signal, as some do. It will probably solve the Blue Tooth time out problem as well.

I have the Phonak CommPilot, a bluetooth audio device that transmits audio from say, my iPhone, directly into my hearing aides, connected to the laptop. To be blunt, if I want to use my computer, at all, I have to have something streaming, be in a music file or something else. Otherwise, my bluetooth device kicks in... irratically. For some reason, it seems to start,, then stop sending audio immediately after I press a key, kick in again, then cut out as soon as NVDA stops speaking. I have Tony's Bluettoth addon on and running, and I have its standby time at a minute, but is having no affect whatsoever. Can anyone help?
