I am using Office 365. Also, I'm using a German version of NVDA, so I don't know if the key to cycle through changes is different in the English version. However, A is the correct key in my version.

 

Can I do something to solve this, or is this a new bug?

the support indicated in the NVDA user guide is no longer valid ...

And for anyone who might find themselves in the situation where they are having to use the keyboard layout to which they are not accustomed, and you need to find the NVDA shortcut for anything, NVDA+N,H,Q, will bring up the Commands Quick Reference in your default web browser so you can look it up.

I can't say how many times I've used this to look up something I very seldom use, or when faced with laptop keyboard layout since I'm a desktop layout user by default.

Sorry, I haven't followed this entire thread but there is a way to start from a given point and read to the end using a laptop keyboard layout.  Just focus on where you want to start and then do a NVDA+A.

The only way I know of to stop this problemis that, when you open a new message, don't just let it sit there and read. After you open the message, issue the read to end command.

Hello,

I have updated my machine to  the latest NVDA version and have found that if I go onto say The Guardian site and start to read an article I seem to be able to read only one paragraph from  the article before insert and down arrow stop and I have to either down arrow or use insert and down arrow to get to the next paragraph of the article. Prior to updating things worked just fine so has something changed with the latest update or is it a case of a setting having altered and if so how do I get to read an entire article without it stopping at  each new paragraph.


Thanks in advance for any assistance and it is quite likely I have missed something simple. Any suggestions will be most welcomed.

           You hit the nail on the head.  It does appear when I have NVDA running and does not when I do not.

            New Edge does not appear to have Accessibility settings (or at least not under that moniker).  Brave does not either, under that or image or describ (I didn't bother completing the word, as that should be enough to get any variant), yet the option for the context menu pops up.

             This is the first time I've seen a browser settings be sensitive to whether a screen reader is running at the time or not.  This certainly makes sense when it's accessibility settings, though it does pose some dangers in terms of sighted assistants trying to assist by looking on their own machines (which will often not have a screen reader at all - or not one that they know how to run).   I'll have to see if this is picked up when running JAWS and Narrator later.
