starting to dislike google recapcha

Hi.

Well, after trying to buy something that needed the recapcha system the only conclusion I can come to is that its almost always overloaded.

Google services are rarely overloaded but sometimes it can get to the varification screen and if I try to get an audio it simply errors out and saying I am sending automated requests or something.

Articles say check for malware, but its happening on at least 6 computers I have tried on the same network and it used to work fine.

So far I have been able to avoid the capchas for my daily life, however google's help page really doesn't tell you if recapcha itself is having issues.

Recapcha was a good system I used it for ages and it worked for ages but now its really not.

Are these older pieces of software? There might be something in the help about working around weird issues like this. One issue I have with windows 10 is that after an update if Windows does not like a program it simply breaks it and shoves it out like an orphan. I think Microsoft should let the decision be for the user. It can be really irritating if its an email client for example.

A couple of things come to mind that I've seen. If you use your machine with more than one sound device, say usb headset or sound device and there is an internal card as well. I've seen 10 get itself in an awfully confused mess and this often results in no sound. You may need to use a sighted person to see if things are set correctly.
I seem not to see this on the old Windows 7 however it can sometimes go silent due to an external drive freezing the computer, but that is a whole other issue.

I use Windows 10 1809 and latest nvda. Sometimes I don't get any sound
feedback in this pc specially during browsing folders and files. I have to
close and reopen this pc to fix it. I'm facing it since after upgrading to
1809. How to fix it permanently?

Did you ever find it accurate? I never did, it is the same in mobile and pc from my point of view. Dropbox seems to start with the shortest files then move to the bigger ones progressively. Its fairly accurate as it does the short ones but not the long ones.

I've been noticing lately the add on for Dropbox no longer will announce the remaining time for uploads. For many things, this doesn't matter much but for large files or entire folders I do want to know the progress of an upload. Hopefully this can be fixed.

Thanks.

Hi,
While this is not related to NVDA, I'm asking it here because the guy who run this site probably isn't on the chat subgroup. If he is, I haven't seen him yet.
And, as this is a pretty valuable website, I'm asking, maybe letting you, Gene NZ, know that it's down or so it looks like.

I've tried to access it more than once and got a "timeout" error all of the times I did.

That's it. I hope to see this site up and running again. Your job is quite appreciated :)

Odd that it's much further down the results, but nvaccess.org, also appears to host this Add-On for NVDA (and still version 0.1):

Re: still looking for the best add-on for cakewalk sonar.

"Best possible" is definitely subjective.

The add-on by Jamie Teh & Victor Tsaran can be found here:  http://blog.jantrid.net/p/nvda-sonar.html
This appears to have last been actively worked on six years ago.

What appears to be the same version can be found on this page:  https://bitbucket.org/nvaccess/nvda-sonar/downloads/
by hitting the Download Repository link, which gets you the add-on in a zip file, so I'd go the direct route on the previous page.

There is also material that might interest you here:  https://www.gearslutz.com/board/music-computers/1166460-cakewalk-sonar-x3-blind-using-behringer-x-touch-compact-sapi5-nvda.html

All of these pages come up in the first 5 web search results for NVDA Cakewalk Sonar.  There do not appear to be a wide variety of options.

Hi all,

can anybody tell me where I can get the best possible add-on for cakewalk sonar?

I've seen a github reposetory by James Tae, but I am unsure as to how to utilise it and work with it to make the thing come together. any assistance would be greatly appreciated as I find using audacety for multi-track recording to be very limited in its use even though it is functional

Re: HELP! LOST ALL MY ADD-ONS!!!

Clarissa Mitchell

I did a complete reset of my computer, keeping personal files so I
wouldn't lose absolutely everything. After that, I did a full
antivirus scan just to make sure I didn't have something wonky messing
around with my computer. I then re-downloaded NVDA and proceeded to
find all my add-ons again. I got some things back from the
"windows.old" folder before deleting it through Disk Cleanup. As far
as I could tell, there wasn't a whole lot there that I wanted to get
back; it didn't even have all my personally created desktop icons. Of
course, the reset wiped all the installed applications that didn't
come with the computer, so I now have to spend valuable time getting
all my programs back. I got NVDA, the TWBlue app for Twitter, and
Spotify, but I haven't re-downloaded anything else, mainly because I
really just don't want to take the time. But I suppose I'll have to do
it anyway. Somehow I really need to get the money for an external hard
drive or something so I can back up all my digital treasures!

You can't disable "hold down the power button" hard shutdown ever, and
that's generally what people are doing.   There is no direct access to the
power button via Windows during an update in progress.

I hope that Clarissa reports back on what has transpired since her original
message arrived at some point.

May it be changed?
I'd believe so.
However, be warned that it's not advised to change default keystrokes, for many reasons. One of them is that if you get used to your own keystroke for a command, when you have to work with another computer, of course said keystroke will be different and you'll be at the risk of don't remembering it.

Now, here are the steps if you still want to change something:
If you go to NVDA Menu > Preferences > Input Gestures (maybe this latter don't have this exact name, but it's something close to it) you can set any keystroke according with your preferences.
You'll have a filter where you can type in something that is a part of the command name or its description.
When you've finished typing, hit tab and you'll be presented with the results for what you've typed. You can then press up/down arrows to move through the options.
When you find the result you want, hit tab until "add" and press spacebar.
Just after pressing spacebar on the "add" button, enter with your new keystroke for this command.
Then you'll have to choose if this command will be valid for the laptop or desktop layout, or even both.
When you've finished with it, OK to exit this dialog.
That's it :)

Re: cannot download weather plus and when I type, keys do not speak

Hi,
First let me say that two different questions as it looks like it's the case here, would be better suited in different threads. Of course, that's my opinion and the final decision is still yours :)

Now:
cannot download weather plus; when I try, I am taken back to the desktop.
I'm not sure of what you are using for downloading it.
At any rate, as far as I know, this add-on is being rewritten, which means you would find a better and more stable version of it if you wait for a while.

Also, when I type, the keys do not speak; meaning they remain silent.
Try pressing NVDA key+F2, NVDA being the insert/caps lock key, according on what you've set it up.
If it solves your problem, don't forget to save the change. To do it, press CTRL+NVDA+C.
