Hi Guy,

Rather than try to use object navigation in a rather convoluted process, download and install the Mozilla Apps Enhancement add on from the NVDA add ons page.  The latest version will work with all versions of Thunderbird including version 78.

Here is the direct link to this add on page.

Hi all. I am trying to re-order my columns in Mozilla Thunderbird, and having some trouble. I listen to the tutorial that I found on groups.io, and I was unable to get my NVDA cursor to go up to the header where the columns are listed. Is there something different that I have to do? When I have NVDA in object navigation mode I use the NVDA key plus number four and I cannot seem to get the NVDA cursor  the top of the message list. Any help would be welcome. Is this an update thing? I think I am running NVDA 2020.1 on this particular flash drive.
Thanks,
Guy

Here is another link with other instructions.  I don't know which may or may not work properly or be better or easier to work with.

To move within an object, if you can, you use just the numpad keys themselves.

I'm playing with Thunderbird now to see if I can figure it out. I found instructions with a search and I don't know if they match what you found in the tutorial.  Here is the link:

https://nvda.groups.io/g/nvda/topic/colum_headers_in_thunderbird/3281531?p=

Also, a link is given in the message to an audio tutorial. Perhaps that is the one you are using.

It may be that the add-on won't work in your version of Thunderbird.  Others can comment on whether an updated version is available if you are using a version too new for the old version of the add-on to be compatible with.

First of all, there is no selution. He suggest me to do a repair for my machine, no matter that I've explained to him 20 times that's is not my problem, its global problem around the world that’s effect many blind people who use Braille.

I even showed him this in Jaws and NVDA, and also that the change braille display driver is not always there, but it’s the same screen as always.

Even removing the driver its not an option, its said "accessibility braille support uninstallation failed most of the time. And if its removes nothing happened with the braille.

After 30 minutes of explomations and "hmmmmm" from him, which just get me more angry, he said "ok, submit a feedback to us.

Hi all,

Does anyone happen to know if there is an add on for VLC that works with the latest vda?

Or, if there is an alternative  that I should use that would be better.

Re: narator's driver, problems with screen readers and braille.

Afik,

It is considered bad netiquette to cross-post between groups, and you sent your last response to:  braille-display-users@groups.io; jfw-users@groups.io; program-l@...; nvda@nvda.groups.io

Please do not cross post replies received to replies on other groups here.  And I feel fairly certain that the members of the Braille Display Users, JFW Users, and Program-L lists would appreciate not having cross posted material as well.

Re: Looking for accessible PDF editors

David Griffith

It is not strictly speaking native PDF editing but of course the subscription/later versions of Microsoft Word are perfectly able to open PDF documents for both reading / editing  providing the original PDF is in an accessible format and not a scanned image.
Given the Office standard is widely acknowledged I suspect this would be acceptable to most application providers.
For your purposes you would probably need to re-export the  completed application  document in word back into PDF format otherwise it will try to save in an Office format.

Hello list,
please, are there any PDF Editors available that are accessible with the
latest NVDA and Windows 10?
I need to fill in an application form which is in PDF format only, so I
am looking for either an accesible PDF editor or a way how to convert
the file into accessible format to fill in, but the formating as in
original document *must* be preserved. It is the application form for
the city council where I live, that's why formatting is so infortant.
I do not have sighted person around all the time, and I would like to do
it on my own if possible.
Thank you very much in advance.
