Re: Using iTunes under Windows to transfer files to/from the iPhone
I've retitled the topic so it might get additional attention. If someone can't help you here, consider asking on the PhonesForTheBlind group, as there are a lot of iPhone users there and iTunes has been discussed relatively frequently.

Torrents in QBitTorrent, or other accessible torrent clients.
John Isige
Hi all. I'm back with another question.
I've been using QBitTorrent for torrents, but so far as I can tell, the list of torrents is inaccessible. So I've been using the web interface. While that's accessible, my problem is this. Say I have, I dunno, twelve torrents going. I want to delete seven of them. In the web interface, I have to pick one, delete it, pick another one, delete it, and so on. Is there a way to do this in QBitTorrent itself, so I can pick multiple torrents and just delete them? Ideally it would also ask me if I wanted to delete the actual data or not. Alternatively, can anybody recommend another client that's accessible? I was using utorrent/mu torrent, whatever it's called, but one place I check doesn't like it anymore because it has some sort of security issue or something. That's why I switched to QBitTorrent. It wasn't really accessible either. You'd think a list box wouldn't be that hard but apparently torrent client designers like to make them non-standard or something. So if anybody's got something really accessible, I'd love to know about it. Maybe that is QBitTorrent and I'm just missing something. |

Re: Converting JAWS Dictionaries
Pele,
If you happen to know Linux/Unix, the awk command will be very easy to use to do the conversion. A JAWS dictionary line has the fields, in order: Actual word|Replacement Word|Language (0x09-English)|Synthesizer|Voice|Language (0 is default)|Case sensitive (0 - No, 1 -Yes) For the JAWS dictionary, the fields themselves are DOT enclosed/separated, UNLESS, the actual word starts with a dot, in which case it's a comma used for the separator. The NVDA dictionary file layout is simpler, and the fields are tab separated. The first field does not have a separator before it. They are arranged as: Matching word or regular expression|Replacement|Case Sensitivity (0 - no, 1 - yes)|Type (2 - Whole Word, 1 - Regular Expression, 0 - Anywhere)|Comment (All comments are pre-pended with a # For both dictionaries, there is a single entry per line of the file. Have fun with it. It doesn't appear to be particularly complicated. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Science has become just another voice in the room; it has lost its platform. Re: Converting JAWS Dictionaries
Pele,
None that I know of. But the structure of the NVDA dictionary files is very, very simple. If you happen to have a JAWS dictionary file that you can e-mail me as an attachment, I might be able to whip something up, though I won't guarantee it. I don't know how Freedom Scientific lays out the JAWS dictionary files, and that's where the sticking point might be. But if they're plain text like the NVDA dictionaries are, it shouldn't be all that difficult to figure out how to convert. It's going to be a long, rainy day here, so this might be a fun task to try. By the way, anyone who has a JAWS dictionary file they're willing to share should feel free to e-mail it to me as an attachment using the Reply to Sender link at the end of this message. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Science has become just another voice in the room; it has lost its platform. Re: A question about Vocalizer
Sylvie Duchateau
Hello, In addition to what Rui said, from a non commercial point of view, it depends on what you are looking for. As I work in different languages, English, French, German, after I have tested both products, I prefer using Tiflotecnia's voices, as language switching works fine. I also had the impression that the voices from code factory were
less responsive. If you like the eloquence synthesiser, you'd better take Code Factory's solution as you get the eloquence voices and the nuance voices. Best Sylvie

Hello!
The makers are Tiflotecnia, my company, and CodeFactory...
We have a better technical support and a better automatic language switching...
They have more languages and voices... at least untill now...

Once you adjusted the volume does the voice behave ok? I don't have any SAPI 4 voices anymore to check. On Thu, Apr 23, 2020 at 4:15 PM Sandesh computer trainer HR <rh.sandesh@...> wrote: HI friend,

By using Narrator I have did above settings which you have mention. But Microsoft AP 4 is not working. Now reinstall NVDA and change the synthesizer from E-speak to Microsoft AP 4. Immediately NVDA was working without voice. Later I have checked in volume control. NVDA volume was 0. Later increase it. Look like Microsoft AP 4 has few issues with NVDA of latest version. With regards, Sandesh HR

Re: NVDA voice profiles are not functioning in latest NVDA after changing synthesizer
Quentin Christensen
Can you both please clarify exactly which voices / synthesizers you are using? Sandesh, I'm not familiar with a synth called "AP4", but did you mean SAPI 4"? It sounds like you managed to get back to a voice you can use, but if you do set the synthesizer to something which doesn't work, two ways to overcome it are: 1) Revert NVDA to the last saved configuration by pressing NVDA+CONTROL+R. If all else fails, pressing this three times quickly will reset NVDA back to factory settings. 2) Or you can change the synthesizer again, if you are happy to try doing so without speech: - Press NVDA+CONTROL+S to open the synthesizer dialog - Press W for Windows OneCore voices or E for eSpeak-NG. - Press ENTER. The new synthesizer should load and start speaking. Note that this assumes Windows OneCore is the only (or at least first alphabetically) synthesizer beginning with W and eSpeak NG is the only or first beginning with E. Regards Quentin. If anyone experiencing this is willing to, what might really help here is a copy of an NVDA lot set to debug level.
