OE Classic fixes list accessibility.
Glad to see they responded to feedback! Lists have been fixed in the version 3.1. This version isn't available for free users yet. My guess is, that when OE Classic 3.2 comes into beta, then free users will get 3.1. See below for links and emails. This is an email client that's supposed to be a modern imitation of Outlook Express.. Profiles and IMAP is not supported in the free version yet.
The announcement email. At last, we can announce a huge improvement for OE Classic accessibility. Previously, OE Classic lists were unreadable by Jaws and NVDA (or other screen readers). This is no longer the case! Now, we've finally cracked the code required to properly announce and narrate those lists to a screen reader. This includes - message list (list of messages), contact list and the list of folders. We went through all the windows and it appears, that this affects all the windows which were previously blank to a screen reader. In addition to that, the names of the lists should now also be properly narrated (such as message list, tree view, followed by a list of actual messages). Also, when keys are used to navigate (for example, arrow up/down) each individual item is narrated separately (which could be a folder name, a contact name or a subject line of a selected message) which is consistent with the standard message list. This is a huge improvement for accessibility in OE Classic. Combined with the earlier improvement we did - message boxes, this will make OE Classic a whole lot more accessible. Even though there is still room for improvement which of course we'll continue to work upon, we believe that this one will make a significant difference for OE Classic users in their daily usage. The new feature is available in OE Classic 3.1, today's update (2020, February 17th) so if you're using an older version, please update to use this feature. Best regards, Zvonko Tesic |

Re: Editing of Windows onecore voices
Can I add simviation some how to the 1core dictionary and not have it blow up any other synths I use, that's the only set of voices that cannot pronounce simviation correctly By the way to know what that is google simviation's website. Anyway, my question still stand, I hope I can do this as we had a fun fight on twitch as I thought theeperson was spelling it wrong lol! Sarah Alawami, owner of TFFP. . Re: web page objects that require the use of the mouse
Dan Beaver
I appreciate all the suggestions. However, how does one do this using a laptop? Your keystroke suggestions are for a desktop layout not a laptop.
I have searched through the NVDA help and can find nothing about moving the screen cursor or system cursor to the currently focused object.
Maybe this can't be done on a laptop?
Thanks.

Re: NVDA Add-ons for Foobar2000/FreeCommander XE?
You really don't need any nvda add ons for foobar. I use it all the time and it's very very accessible. You can set up keyboard shortcuts to do most of the tasks. Re: MP3 Direct Cut Chattering too Much with NVDA Add-On
Roger Stewart
I just tried mp3 Direct Cut using the
latest nvda and the latest add on. I'm not experiencing anything
like this. It doesn't make a sound at all while just playing a
file. It doesn't speak every second or anything else unless I stop
it and then it tells me where I am as it has always done.

Re: MP3 Direct Cut Chattering too Much with NVDA Add-On
Gene
I really doubt it. Context is
important. The person said this didn't happen with the previous
version of the add-on. The setting about background progress bars is off
by default. Also, this isn't a progress bar. it’s a display showing
the amount of elapsed time, displaying numbers as changing times, as I said not
a progress bar. the add-on is speaking every change of time is this
display.

Well uncheck the box, hit ok, exit nvda, then start nvda again. I have tried this on my system and it works, nvda is not running at login eather just after it but I have turned all of them off and its ok so it should work.

Unfortunately, I don't even have an idea, what freeCommanderXp does, but their is a chapter in the official NVDA guide dedicated solely to foobar2000. So maybe you don't even need an add-on for that... Best regards Martin

profile triggers and what to do if NVDA does not automatically switch to previous profile (observed in alpha 19691 ...)
J.G
Hello,
before I'm going open a ticket I would like to ask community in case I have missed something about profiles. Some years ago I created profiles for applications and say all, which has been brought to NVDA 2019.3.1. And now everytime, when I stop a "say all", NVDA does not switch to previous profile for instance basic profile or app profile. In previous versions like 2019.2.1 it worked fine. It also have worked for some alphas ago. I cannot exactly determine, when it has stopped work. So what can I do to resolve a problem or is it a bug? I use portable copy of alpha now on version 19691... on windows 10 1909. thx for your responses. regards, Jožef |

Hi Dan
With the golden cursor add on you can control the mouse with the arrow keys and do a few extras.

simviation, with an 's', not a 'c'. OneCore pronounces the version starting with an 's' correctly. It does indeed pronounce the version with a 'c' pretty strangely, I'm honestly curious what processing makes it do that because it makes no sense. But it's probably due to a misspelling anyway, and if it's not, yes, dictionaries. NVDA even uses synthesizer-specific ones for exactly this sort of situation.
