StationPlaylist add-on 19.08.1 and 18.09.11-LTS, plans for the long-term suport version
#addonrelease
Hi all,
StationPlaylist add-on 19.08.1 and 18.09.11-LTS are now available. The key difference between these two versions is which SPL suite is the minimum – 19.08.x supports SPL 5.20, and 18.09.11-LTS supports 5.1x. As always, these releases can be found on community add-ons website or through Add-on updater.
Today’s releases are bug fix releases. Both include fixes for encoder support, add-on settings, and for 19.08.x, a specific problem related to starting Studio.
Also, a note on future 18.09.x releases:
Cheers, Joseph

Bullet levels in Powerpoint
Devin Prater
Hi all. I have a student working on Powerpoint with NVDA. In a task, the student has to indent bullets on an object. She can input this fine, but how can she quickly check which indentation she’s on on each level? Insert+F doesn’t work, and having NVDA speak indentation doesn’t work either. Outlook Bug When Scrolling Through Messages
kelby carlson
I have two computers for work, both now running NVDA 2019.1.1. My
desktop is a Windows 7; MS Outlook works fine on that computer. My laptop is Windows 10. Outlook has a major bug with NVDA that I am seeing: namely that when I try to arrow through messages in a folder, NVDA does not speak the messages. I can figure out what they are via object navigation, but this is cumbersome. I thought the update to 2019.1.1 would fix it, but it has not. Does anyone know of a solution? -- Kelby Carlson

UI Automated Interface in Word
kelby carlson
Can someone explain what exactly is supposed to happen when this is
turned on? I notice some changes; some are positive, like more ease in handling lists. Some, however, are very negative, like NVDA saying "read only" even in documents that can be edited, and not detecting track changes when the UI setting is turned on. Unfortunately the User Guide does not explain much about this. Can anyone help? -- Kelby Carlson

Hi group, It seems that Acapela TTS Voices for NVDA hasn’t been updated for one year or so. Is there some hiyatus or has been the development stopped or something? I’m kinda woried that happens, Since that addon doesn’t support Python 3 at the momento. Shukrán.

The only time I will deactivate all of the licenses from this tablet is when I buy a new computer, and this tablet goes into storage, only to be used as a backup machine if the much bigger more powerful laptop should fail.

Re: Automatic bookmarks on steroids
That sucks. I don't really use it unless a site is dumb enough to well be a total lout. Thats been 3 or 4 times really not enough to use it for 10 bucks a month. I don't really care for subscriptions, and its never worked fully in firefox as a fully installed package anyway and I don't use it much.

If people type links from memory, they may make errors. If they go to the page itself and copy and paste the link, no errors will be made.
Arlene, that is why you are getting an error message. You won't get it if you use the link I gave.

Re: how can i set nvda that does not wrapp long hyperlinks?

Many people, when typing links into a browser,
only type the link such as microsoft.com. The browser automatically
makes the write choice, whether to take you to the http://www. address or the http:// no www. address.
But you are writing links that an e-mail program recognizes as links and you
must write the correct form. Get the address from the address bar in the
browser after you go to the page.

I don't know why the link is being broken.
When I look at the link, it appears in this way:
Notepad++ Installer 64-bit x64: Take this one if
you have no idea which one you should take.
I don't think this is a general
problem, whatever the cause.

Re: how can i set nvda that does not wrapp long hyperlinks?
Gene
Regardless of what you type in the address bar, you
did type the link as https:// etc. in your message. which is why I say
that people should go to the site itself to avoid errors.
Also, you gave the home page which appears not to
be where the link you are asking about is. Correct me if I'm wrong but I
had to follow a download link and look at the page that came up to find the link
you appear to be discussing. If you go to the actual page and copy the
address to the clipboard, that saves people having to figure out what page you
are working with.

Re: how can i set nvda that does not wrapp long hyperlinks?
One can always install 32-bit software on 64-bit systems. But if you have a 64-bit system and there is a 64-bit version of any given piece of software, it's generally better to use it.
Notepad++ presents its software in virtually any download format you can name: EXE installer, portable ZIP package, portable 7z package, and what they call their "minimalist package" which also uses 7-Zip compression. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1903, Build 18362 The color of truth is grey. ~ André Gide
