To be honest, I have noticed that laptop keyboards have gotten harder and harder to use. Mouse or no mouse. There is a way of typing so you don't rest your hands on the pad but a lot of keys are half keys. I don't care for laptop boards but that could also be tdue to the fact that while at home I use a gaming board and don't need to bother about the laptop.

Reporting to Microsoft?
Does anyone know how I can report general accessibility bugs to Microsoft, other than Twitter? I've been recently having a bug where, if I have a screen reader turned on in windows 10, any screen reader, and I look for a document using the search function in the start menu, hitting enter does nothing. At all. Same for apps too. Some said it's an NVDA bug but I doubt it very much. I don't have Josephs windows 10 add on, so how could I write to Microsoft's accessibility team? Does anyone have a form link or an email address? |

Well I can tell you something I have done, not quite in similar situations, but to achieve the same thing:

Usually in a save-as, the first thing you are in is a text field where you can type your filename. In such fields, you can always type a fully qualified path. So, for example, you could do: Alt+F, A, then type: something.mid But you could just as easily type: c:\users\damien\documents\MIDI files\projects\something.mid I will note that capitalization for existing paths doesn't matter generally. Now, if that is a pain to type, and you find yourself using the same path often, you can do something like this: Windows+R, and type: subst z: "c:\Users\Damien\Documents\My MIDI Files\projects" Now, when you do the save as, you can just type: z:\something.mid In the text field, and it will go to that folder. I also use the version of Microsoft Word that comes with my Office 365 subscription but have never had this problem. Instead of tabbing to "Go to" after typing the page number, try pressing Enter. That works for me. |

When you open or save a file, you can type the full
path in the name edit field. While I haven't looked into it, it makes
sense that when you find and select a file to open, Windows is automatically
creating the path statement as you move from file to file and follows the one of
the file you select. Most people don't know about path statements.
They are working with Windows as Windows, not DOS.

This is based on Windows Basics and is not limited
to any one program. Since you can't see information in the dialog, have
all the files go to the same place, then move them where you want using Computer
or file Explorer.
For convenience, make a folder or use one that
already exists off the c drive with a short easy to type name. For
example, if you are saving a file, open the save as dialog. Type
c:\sound\name of file followed by a period, then the extension. In this
example, you have created a folder called sound while in the c drive folder, not
in a subfolder. For example:
c:\sound\Big Girls Don't Cry.mid
Read the example carachter by
character.

As far as I know, there is no application specific
dictionary and no way to do what you want. of course, someone may know
something I don't know but I know of no such ability.

could place a entry in the default dictionary and just leave the replace with empty. Now my question is can you set words not to be spoken only in a particular app like Google chrome? |

Re: Interruption
Gene
That suggestion points to a possible solution, but
not the one suggested. However, pointing to the possible solution is
useful and may result in the problem being solved.
The only way that idea makes sense is if a mouse
pad is active on a laptop or if something is moving a physical mouse connected
to a computer. In that case, turning mouse tracking off won't help to a
meaningful extent. The mouse pad must either be turned off or physically
blocked by something covering it or the physical mouse must be disconnected or
placed in such a way that it is no longer changing its position. Not doing
so will cause loss of focus as the mouse pad moves focus to wherever it is
moved, such as to the task bar or desktop or somewhere else. Turning mouse
tracking off won't solve that problem.
