Downloading attachnents from Gmail
Mallard <mallard@...>
Hello all,
I have a message from Academia.edu informing me that a text I had requested is attached to the relevant gmail post. I can't find a way of downloading the attachment, either on pc or on smartphone. Any suggestions, please? I've never had attachments in Gmail, and after the new refurbishing of the programme, I just can't find my bearings. Ciao, Ollie

Yes I had this happen to a friend, and it was due to turning off while an update was underway, and it had to be rolled back and the update done again. However it seems to have happened to people I know, not just blind people so maybe there is a problem for some machines. I'd have thought thy would disable shut down in such a case.

Hello list, I'm in search of an accessible price tracking service/extension. I've tried CamelCamelCamel Keepa, Price Plus and Honey for example. For the usual sites, Amazon, NewEgg, BestBuy and so on, but all in all, they don't really provide this info in an accessible format. They're all pretty much graph/chart driven. There is sometimes some info that can be accessed. CamelCamelCamel can provide the highest/lowest price, but as far as more detailed info? Not really. Is anyone aware of a service/extension that can provide this sort of information in an accessible manner? I'm guessing most likely in a table format? To be clear, I'm not looking for a price tracker that can alert one when there's a price drop. That I can get to work fine. It's the historical price tracking stuff I'm interested in. Full disclosure, my main screen reader is Jaws, but I can also use NVDA if that makes any sort of a difference. Thanks,

I'm old so am drawing a blank. This sounds nice, and reminds me of the time mark feature when I used to use winamp way back in 2010. On 14 Apr 2019, at 8:52, Brian's Mail list account via Groups.Io wrote: Winamp Time Markers 1.1 Winamp Time Markers allows you to create time markers/bookmarks for the file currently playing in Winamp. You can create and restore markers for multiple files. You can also create multiple markers for the same file. Selecting "Create Marker" will allow you to instantly create a marker for the currently playing file. The file can also be in pause mode. You can add a file which is stopped as well, but in this case it will basically act as a favorite and play from the beginning when it is selected. You will be prompted to type a name for the new marker. You can either type a name or leave it blank to use the title of the file currently loaded in Winamp. After you have added one or more markers, they will appear on the pop-up menu when you access it via the assignable global hotkey. Selecting a marker from the menu will load the associated file into Winamp and then start playback at the saved position. If the file is already loaded or playing, it will simply start playback at or jump to the saved position. When the listview in the main window has focus, you can use the Delete key to delete, F2 to rename, Control+Up-Arrow to move up, Control+Down-Arrow to move down, and Enter to jump to the selected marker. You can use Control+M to create a marker and Control+J to jump to the selected marker even when the list does not have focus. Control+T will hide or minimize the program to the system tray depending on the settings. You can configure the folder where Winamp is located in the "Settings" dialog if you did not use the default installation folder. In addition to the global hotkeys which you can assign in the "Settings" dialog, there are some hotkeys which will work only when the Winamp main window has focus. \ Create a marker and use the current Winamp title as the marker name. Shift+\ Create a marker and prompt for the marker name. Control+\ Activate the Winamp Time Markers pop-up menu. Additional Notes: 1. All markers are saved in the same folder as the program in a plain text file named Markers.txt 2. By default the program is installed in the folder C:\WinampTimeMarkers You can change the installation folder during setup, but be aware that if you install it into the Program Files folder, the program may have problems writing to the directory due to insufficient permissions. 3. Do not attempt to use the program while multiple instances of Winamp are running. I have not tried to account for this yet so you will probably experience unpredictable results. Although if you create a marker using any of the hotkeys while a specific instance of Winamp is the active window, it will use that instance as the source for a new marker. Finally, I wrote this over the last couple of days so there may still be unforeseen behavior and bugs. I don't know about other programs such as VLC player. This requires a few steps but it is very logical. Also, there is an NVDA Winamp add-on. I don't know what different functions it has. To do this mmanually, do the following: When you are at the point where you want to make the bookmark, pause play by pressing c. Open the Winamp jump to time dialog, control j. You are in a field that shows the current time position you are in. NVDA says selected. That means you don't have to select it. Simply use control c to paste it to the clipboard. Paste the time into a Notepad file and save it with whatever name you want wherever you want. The next time you want to resume reading and use the manually created book mark equivalent, open the Notepad file, select the time with control a for select all, and copy it to the clipboard. Close Notepad if you wish. Start the file playing in Winamp. Pause it so you can hear your screen-reader easily. Open the jump to time dialog, control j. Paste the time in with control v. Press enter. You are now at the place where you want to resume. This may sound like a lot of steps but they are very logical and use concepts, such as copy and paste that are commonly used in Windows and Windows programs. If you try this two or three times, you may find it is much easier than it may sound when reading. Re: is there any voice similar or close to the ETI eloquence english voice

This is subjective and you may get many
opinions. I've seen claims that this or that voice is similar or can be
made similar using the right settings but I've found none that is nearly
comparable. But since you are asking for free voices, you can, of course
try them with no worries about paying or when they will time out.
I can't comment on the One Core voices. I
don't use Windows 10 and I'm not sure if they can be made to work in earlier
versions. How comparable they are to Eloquence, I don't know, but you may
want to try them. I've heard a number of people say they like them.
They are free.
