Aliexpress is good and very accessible. I've ordered few things and it went quite nicely.

Hi,

Just some random thoughts here in no particular order. NVDA isn't coming to iPhone, so let's put that to bed right now. It's apple. The interesting thing here is that despite the claim to 'get over it', Windows on arm is actually a very real thing. NVDA would run on that - all be it emulating x86 - and thus performance would be drastically reduced, but there are laptops out there running snapdragon processors and windows 10 right now. Given some time and effort (and, who knows, in 5-10 years arm processors might be even more mainstream in windows laptops) NVDA, at least for ARM processors, could be a real possibility. Though, as Brian rightly points out, proper keyboard input etc would be a huge thing on Android. I don't know the differences in coding for windows on ARM on Windows vs. Android, and I suspect they are quite different, however windows running native ARM applications in the near future might translate to NVDA having a slow transition? Maybe just parts of the essential screen reader to make response times quicker? I'm actually curious if anyone on the mailing list has tried NVDA on one of these snapdragon laptops to see what performance is actually like. This is probably super messy code wise, too, and would be a complete disaster. But x86, while proven reliable, has been around for decades. Some very interesting (and probably frustrating accessibility wise) times are ahead for us. This blog post, while dramatic, really points out what I am trying to get at here. http://tonsky.me/blog/disenchantment/

How many things you've seen happen that you wouldn't have ever dreamt of, and now they're here? NVDA itself is one of them, isn't it? Why not look at the world with a little more joy and a little less anger?(grin, smile, lol, rofl!) Have a lovely week! Ollie

It doesn't. when I tried it a few months ago, it looked very accessible at first glance, but then I discovered that, although I could read teh prices of all items, I couldn't read what the prices were for. In other words, it reads the prices, but not the products... Not very useful! I meant to try Aliexpress, but never got around to do so. Ciao, Ollie

Re: Zoomtext and nvda
Desert Moon
Hello Adrian,
Windows 7 does not offer full screen magnification. If this is what you need, do explore ZoomText 2019.You can download it from:
https://support.freedomscientific.com/Downloads/ZoomText
It runs in a 40-minute demo mode. Not portable. That version is sold in a USB stick.
Windows 10 offers some high contrast modes and colour filters. Unless you need a peculiar colour scheme, I do not see why you need ZoomText. When it comes to screen reading, NVDA gives you much more than ZoomText can.
