Not sure if you are aware but a few years back i put together a page of software that works with nvda with feed back from the community.

I did link I think it was to the wicki page maybe under guides? I would have to check.


I never got around to actually doing a wicki page like you are putting together.


may be it was just a lot easier using the program i use to make my website? or having the time to do it.


It may be 2 that there are not many people who know how to edit a wicki page 2? or have done it.


may be people may not be aware of the wicki page?


I do not know if you can copy and paste large amounts of programs that work with nvda into a wicki page if that is the case there is the page that was put together that can be added for a back up then may be one day my page can be removed.

Hello antony.
Thank you for your response.
I have configured things appropriately as documented in the readme file. If I go to the machine and unlock it with ctrl+alt+dell and move back to the remote machine and login I can authenticate.

Are you certain that NVDA (and Remote) are running on the server you're trying

Hello Joseph,

I just want to Thank you, and I mean really Thank you for being one of
several who are keeping NVDA a usable Screen Reader. I do not know how
many lines of Code are in the current NVDA program, but there must be
plenty.

I did read what you wrote, and I understood some of it, enough to
realize the conversion project isn't an easy one. So, again, I Thank
you and the others for putting in the many hours of work and study to
make this happen.

I certainly would not be able to do any of this for myself.

Keystroke for on-the-fly reading and interacting with Windows10 alerts?

Might there be an NVDA keystroke, or AddOn I’m not aware of, that’ll let me go on the fly to an alert (Dropbox for instance, when it asks if you want to remove the file or files from everywhere during a deleting of)? Shift+Alt+tab and Alt+Tab to try and get to these alerts can sometimes be a hit and miss affaire. Thanks for info.

Anyone happen to have the iPhone soundpack for Audiothemes, which is available from the NVDA Addons page at versión 3.5D_ I used to have it on my previous Laptop, but either it iddn-t transfer to this one or... I can-t seem to locateit. I was listening the other day to a Spanish NVDA podcast, and I loved how when you pressed Enter, you Heard the doublé/blip theiPhone makes< when youaround, the flicking sounds, thus if any of you guys happen to have it to share with us_

I haven't tried to post a comment.  But the comment may be being written even if NVDA can't read it.  Write the comment in Notepad, then paste it into the edit field.  then go into browse mode and see if it is there.

The main hassle at the moment with the Alpha is it keeps on moaning about add ons. One in particular which is a very useful one, application dictionary. Needs to be brought up to date it seems.
Incidentally no more crashes since I turned off focus highlight. Could be a coincidence, but maybe not.

If you install the stable version, you will no longer get updates to the
alpha channel, that's correct. It's worth at least download 2018.4 even if
you use alpha, because then you have the latest stable version to go back
to if needed. It's up to you whether you want to be in the stable release
channel or the alpha release channel.

Just to be different I use a batch file to close the old copy first, and I also have one that is capable of loading in the log to notepad before rebooting another stable copy, no matter which was running before. This means as I have debug login on on all versions, it allows easy access to the log when things go wrong.

Not really. If say a bug is spotted on the normal release version, a new release version say.4.1 is made and the fix exported back to Alpha as well to make sure both are based on the same code.
The other way around of course, the whole point of alpha is for new features and fixes to be tested. You do not want untested code going to a stable version. In the old days we also had a channel where tested alpha code was in a beta, but now that only starts to appear nearer a release time. You need to watch for this on the snapshots page, which is what I do. The reason is that at times new enhancements come out that affect the beta and it will have to be altered, so the point of beta is to have it more or less fixed in stone before letting the public destructively test it!

I was not prompted but asked nvda to look and it found it.
I'd be a little wary of overwriting an Alpha with a stable though from past experiences.

So you want to downdate, so to speak from alpha to the new version? the best plan is to download it afresh and uninstall the alpha.
On the other hand I keep an alpha updated as a portable version and use the stable or betas as my installed copy.

Hi all, as the subject says,

I’m unable to write comment on YouTube., on the edit box. When writing a comment, NVDA speaks only letters, and doesn’t write anything. Please fix that. Using the latest Firefox, and the latest NVDA
