Perhaps someone can discuss if there is a technical reason why there isn't a restore defaults button or, perhaps better, a button that will restore the selected item to its default.  There may be times when people don't want to lose everything but want to try changing one setting.

There is no restore defaults button in the dialog.  Someone may tell you how to manually change the settings by saying what the defaults should be, if you aren't sure.

I don't know if there is a way to restore defaults, perhaps by making a portable copy from the exe file, then copying files concerning the dialog you are working with.  Someone may furnish instructions.

Thanks for your advice. Worked wonders. I have successfully changed the pronunciation of tick and it now pronounces apostrophe. However I am not having the same success with bang. I want to replace it with exclamation. I have followed the same procedure as apostrophe but oddly no success.

It would be different on portable to installed versions though.
I think in the main one sees some storing them in the main folders in the users roaming folders, but of course for portable being wide open for all its going to be somewhere in the add ons folelder.

Such a change now, however would immediately mean all add ons would need a rewrite to accommodate the new rules.

There will be no additional features added to Office 2016, there haven't been for several years now, but it continues to receive security and other patch updates and will up through 2025.

Hi all,

IMPORTANT: shortly after August 18, 2022 at 00:00 UTC (5 PM Pacific on August 17, 2022), Add-on Updater will not offer updates to itself and Windows App Essentials if you are not running NVDA 2022.2. This is in preparation for requiring the aforementioned NVDA release from the next stable versions of these add-ons (late August).

This will take a thread to explain as I may need to dig into communication between NVDA contributors, Windows Terminal developers, and other engineers.
