Which browser are you using? Sometimes, using a different web browser can change things here and there. If using a different web browser doesn't help, chances are that this has to do with oddly designed web controls, something you should alert the bank about. Regarding scripting: yes, it is possible to script NVDA via Python programming language. There has been discussion regarding how to do this for websites, but no progress on that front yet. Cheers, Joseph

I can get as far as the page that lets you download statements, then it's a no-go. There's a graphic to let the user pick the range of dates for the statements he wants to download, and NVDA doesn't see the picker. (BTW, neither does JFW, which is my other go-to screen reader.) Does NVDA support the building of and use of scripts? My husband thinks it might be a java thing that's happening behind the scenes. Ideas? Thanks, Dani

NVDA and Win 10 1809
Don H
NVDA seems to be running great with Win 10 1809. There is one strange thing that NVDA is voicing when entering the settings app. NVDA says
C equals Microsoft Windows O equals Microsoft Corporation L equals readman S equals washington and one more that I can't understand.s Sighted help says there is nothing like this on the screen. Not a game changer just a little annoying

Captchas Revisited
I am not wanting to create a new flood on this one. (smiles) I could not keep up with the last thread on this topic so I may have missed any discussion about the object captchas (pictures) in particular.
Is there a way to solve this type of captchas? Usually I can get around captchas by contacting someone by email. But in one case, I must solve the captcha in order to contact support. From E.T.'s Keyboard... Ancient.Aliens@... Many believe that we have been visited in the past. What if it were true?

Re: Anyone use Visual Studio 2017?
Dave Grossoehme
Good Afternoon: It has been sometime since I've done anything with VB. So I'm not sure what version of the program or Jaws, but there was a toolbox to work with Visual Basic. In which case I don't know if it it was updated to today's program. However, it might be something you might wish to look into.

Re: Windows 10 App Essentials on Windows 10Ver1703 (64-bit) build 15063.296
To be honest, I actually agree from a user point of view.

99.9% of my software is actually old software. Bar my ocr software, my web brouser, email program, ccleaner, 7zip, and a few games most of the software I have bar those like goldwave and cdbxp which I update and my torrent sync, most of that came from xp days. Out of that about 10 programs are true 64 bit and mostly its because I can not that I must. Ok with the exception with waterfox maybe. now with windows 7, its stable for the most part. I have not found a reason from a user point of view especially since all I do mostly is gaming, audio and a little web testing work to really think of moving to win10. One thing I really dislike from win10 is when switching networks. In 7 I can connect to a list of networks but only have 1 up at a time. To connect to one on 10 I log off one, then log to another one. Thats fine, however if I then link back to my network I used especially on a home one I need to make sure it wil automatically connect on startup by hitting the right box in the right place. I also don't care about bits of the copy dialog and file explorer. If I have more than 1 or 2 windows open, maybe notepad and explorer for example even if its minimised, all my files do not show though I know if I fiddle around they will work just fine. There is also the fact issues I have in win10 don't happen on 7. The only 2 reasons I would never go back to xp are 1, 64 bit programs, xp64 drivers support sucked and 2. windows update intergration. I also don't care for the miriad places one needs to go to get extras for win10 things, store, updates settings optional features the list goes on. The only reason other than the fact I use a lot more 64 bit now is that a lot of games, and a lot of codecs and things like java have moved on so I could never go back for general things. On the other hand, I am tempted to downgrade to xp if only for especially the older games, all my dos stuff, maybe, and a few other things. I would never serf with it online as such but I would keep it updated. I also have a few things that are not 64 bit compatible.

Well I disagree most strongly. Its making far too much work for system admins, and potentially breaking working software as well. I think we as a breed also should have access to longer support times as we have the excuse of finding newer third party software is inaccessible whereas older ones are, All that will happen if Window carries on this way is home users will block all updates to achieve a stable working system leaving themselves open to malware as with xp, though I has to be said that although having windows xp machines here, I've yet to encounter any virus.

NVDA not reading slides in Presentation mode "slide show complete"
Joshua Crary <JCrary@...>
Hello
I am running the latest NVDA and PPT 2016. The files are not in protected mode. In edit view, I can read the slides. However, in presentation mode (after pressing F5), and all NVDA reads out loud is “slide show complete”. I hit space bar twice, and it exits the slide show.
Any thoughts on what the issue is? I have not had this issue before with NVDA until the last 3 months or so. Before then, it has always worked well with PPT.
