Hi,

Thanks to all for help with the TBird addon. It's done and now I'm back with another issue that I should know since I've done it before. I've looked in the control panel and in different folders in the view tab, but can't seem to find how to make it tell me when right arrowing on a file the name, file type and so on. Can anyone please help with this and sorry for all the questions, but it's been so long since I've done this, I just don't remember.

I don't know. Some people apparently use an app on their phones with an
actual person on the other end. Seems excessive to me. The audio ones really
do seem to be getting better. I was pleasantly surprised when I signed up to

Re: Firefox odd one

You will probably find that as the esr came out after yours even though it has an earlier number they have stopped it from updating to58. I had a similar issue from 54 to 57. Personally I'd try to go back to 52 and allow it to update the ESR to the latest fixes. I find this version works great and none of the drawbacks you get in the new Quantum interface system.
I'm sure they will fix it, but although 58 is actually working mostly, those who read hear will know the problems I still have with its design and usability. If none of this matters simply download the latest 58 version and see what you think. Apart from having to reinstall add ons if you go back nothing else gets lost.

I just checked for a Firefox update and was told it wanted to upgrade from 54 to 56 but NOT to 58. Why is it doing that if 58 is now a stable release? I don't want to get the one that isn't working right with screen readers.

I looked through browser results, but found either templates, word processors, or typing tutors. If you are looking to improve your typing speed in English, you would want a typing tutor and there are many. Likewise, there are many word processors that offer templates for writing different types of documents.

If, however, you are looking for a software program that teaches the basic formats for different types of letters that you would write to other people, I think that has gone the way of the 1980’s. There are websites, seminars and classes, but not much in software packages. I only found one.

I use the Shift + Down arrow keys to make a copy. I choose the text.
Then copy it with Ctrl + C.

What should I do to make a smooth copy?

Respected friends, as you are well aware that Mozilla has updated its browser FF58 on January 23rd 2018 as it promised!

I’m very much delighted to let you know that NVDA is well a head of all screen reader regarding the use of FF58.

The matter of fact is that I have JAWS 18.4530, JAWS 2018.1712.54, narrator and NVDA 2017.4.

I have tested FF58 with all of them and I found out that Fire Fox 58 is working the best with NVDA 2017.4.

I really couldn’t understand that even then Freedomscientific/VFO is charging hundreds and thousands of US Dollars from visually challenged people and from different agencies which are helping visually challenged people, why they haven’t come up with JAWS update before releasing of Fire Fox 58!

This fundamental question is enough to convince those people and agencies which are giving hundreds and thousands of Dollars to Freedomscientific/VFo, should donate a hand some amount of money to NVAccess as well so it can work for the betterment of visually challenged people better than before!

In short all I can say is “East and west, NVDA is the best”

Hi, Pascal,

I'm really amazed at how fast FF 58 is. I'm thinking of making it my default browser too.

Hi All,

Till two days ago, I was very frustrated with Firefox. Wow, FF58 solved all of them and today I am surfing beautifully with Firefox like never before. I made it again my default.

Blessings

Same with me!

I am using NVDA latest master development snapshot,

And it works really well with Firefox 58. I am accessing so many programs, apps, and browsers with NVDA verses JAWS. JAWS is getting way behind. NVDA works much better in Edge, for example. I really want to show my gratitude for all you do.

I just tried the News app with JAWS 2018 and NVDA, and NVDA works much better. I am using NVDA more and more to do just what I want to do.

Also, NVDA lets me know, in the mail app, as I type, when I made a spelling mistake. I can just press Shift+F10 to correct it.

That is beautiful.

                Hi List,

I have recently started an on-line MS Office Skills 2016 course. The course has been written using Moodel with some lists, diary management and accessing files.

Does anyone have any experience in using Moodel? The default web browser which is used is Microsoft Edge.

Thanks.

Hi I have not tried this, but another thing to try might be as follows.
Press NVDA+SPACE to turn off Browse mode
Press CTRL+A, then CTRL+C.
Open a blank Word document and press CTRL+C.

Subject: [nvda] Retaining Formatting From a Web Page When Inserting Into Microsoft Word File

Hi Group,

This is actually a response to another thread concerning copying from a web page and retaining formatting. Unfortunately, I deleted the entire thread by mistake so I had to start another thread.

In any case, with more recent versions of Microsoft Word, it is possible to open an HTML page into a new document.  It's a bit more complex, but if one really wishe4s to maintain proper formatting, I would think this would work.  I have never tried it before, but try the following.

1.  Save the web page to disk.

2.  Open Word and from the open file dialogue, browse to the HTML file and bring it into Word.  See if the major formatting is retained.
