I'm not at all sure I'm going to play with the bot.  For a demonstration for the general public, this amount of security is intrusive and unnecessary.  You have to create an account, solve a captcha, evidently every single time you sign in using your account credentials, and now, after asking me for my first and last name, it wants my phone number, evidently to send me a code so I vcan verify that its mine. 

I want to use the bot, not sign up to use a financial institution or apply for a security clearance. 

Every time myu personal information is placed on an account, that's one more chance for it to be hacked. 

This is abusive and intrusive and, unless there are strong arguments why I am wrong in response, I won't give into this abuse of my privacy.

It's because virtual cursors don't by default, scroll the screen, unless you have some kind of focus highlight turned on.

Pressing control home in browse mode moves the virtual cursor. The question is why, when in focus mode, the position doesn't necessarily line up with where the virtual cursor is.

Because on some pages, the virtual cursor in Browse mode doesn't line up with the actual page. You will see this on some other pages as well if you switch back and forth. That's why I said, in my instructions to move to the top of the page and tab once while in browse mode. I don't know technically why, but that aligns where you are in browse mode with where you are on the underlying page so my instructions will work consistently.

Surely, it's simple enough to press Control Home when you're in the Email to get to the top? This should take your virtual cursor to the top of anything.

I exactly know the screen reader and the feature you are talking about. Short of contacting the app developer, can you: 1. Move focus to the control in question, press NVDA+F1, and copy and paste developer info here or to me privately? Tat way we can figure out what's going on (don't copy the entire log, just developer info will do). 2. Try with Narrator and see if it behaves the same as NVDA. If yes, this might be something to tell the app vendor. 3. See if an add-on for this program is available.

You know I have not explored chat gpt just yet.

After all we are talking about a program with a huge database but thats
all it is.

Its a lot of bs mainly at least from some article its good at
conversation but its still learning pluss its still an experiment.

I have better things to do than cloun round with this.

I mean for a laugh, sure, but as a serious ai, don't know.

Its the rage, but so was the amazon and google systems.

Now I like my system and I use it a fair chunk but lets face it.

We aren't talking riply or skynet or even the borg here.

From all I have read there is no cash to be made in ai at least as a
human assistant though people are fiddling round at the edges.

Now workhas effectively stopped I will have a little time to muck about
with something, maybe not for to long but still a time.

Now as long as its something I can run, bring up when I want to then put
away without it running in the background doing who knows what thats one
thing.

I don't keep my echo plugged in while not in use.

I don't need to be spied on and becides I need the port for something else.

And the advertisement for NVDA is full of inaccuracies and overstatements.  If this were a legal matter, such as writing advertisement copy, it would cause a lot of trouble for its client, if the client uncritically used its copy.

This program can't think.  It works with patterns and applies what it finds with rules.

Yes, Why do I hear clickable so often when nothing happens whether I use enter, spacebar, shift enter, etc..
I'm not complaining, much. But it's a weird one.

Sometimes "clickable" doesn't really do anything. Maybe there is something visual going on like the highlighting of text markeda s clickable, but for all intents and purposes it's useless. There was a whiel there where all review text on IMDB seemed to be designated as clickable. Anyway, one should just try it if a certain result is expected, and there doesn'ta ppear to be a standard link.

I think I asked this in another thread not far back, and really it turns out
to be an alternate way to get a specific area to be detected and do
something useful, often the choice depends on the whims of the page author.

I’ve seen that page before, though not recently. It does work, normally,a nd shouldn’t’ even require object navigation. Perhaps facebook is just broken again. It’sa  pretty buggy site sometimes. Wait a while and try again, or maybe try a different browser. The fact you were able to select all the text though suggests it’s there and readable with your screen reader even if you can’t click the button.

Hi.

If you get locked out of your account due to some suspicious activity, the page that comes up asking you to confirm you are who you say you are is totally inaccessible, turning on browse mode and pressing arrow and tab keys does nothing.  Apparently, when the page loads, you should see something like this.

We saw unusual activity on your account. This may mean that someone has used your account without your knowledge.

To protect you, your profile is not visible to people on Facebook and you can't use your account.

Now the only way that I was able to read this text was to use the function select all and then copy it to clipboard.

Is this an NVDA problem or a firefox problem? or is it both?

I'm using firefox version 108.0 with NVDA 2022.3.2.

What can I do to fix this?
