I don’t think you will be able to rescue the portable copy, unless you copy the add ons from the old to the new and hope it works. I would just do my settings from scratch or create a portable from the installed copy of nvda.

After launching %temp%  I can see NVDA log and NVDA old log, which one I'm required to send?

Before I'd start dealing with this I'd download the latest NVDA installer and make a new portable copy first.  If that misbehaves in the same way, it's a useful data point, and if it doesn't the problem is solved.  It's the portable equivalent of the old "uninstall reinstall" technique for installed versions.

This is not a question of the program not being able to run.  You can run the newest NVDA in Windows 7 Service Pack 1.

Akshaya, you don't tell us what version of Windows your PC operates
on. There is clearly a reason why you're using an older version of
NVDA for your work, and it could be that recent changes implemented by
NVDA are not supported by your setup.

To send the logs navigate to %temp% in the run dialogue and look for something about nvda log or old appended to that.

If you manually close the main copy, then open the portable one, does that also not work?
I had the odd issue where the normal installed version was silent. This seems to have been due to a longer than normal boot up, resulting in the installed copy thinking there was no audio interface and setting it to no speech. I've never seen this occur on portable copies after the machine is fully booted though, especially if its been working with a previous version.
I would make sure though that any usb devices are not acting up and are properly initialising, as this can cause some strange behaviour.

Have you restarted the PC lately?  That's always worth a try.
Also, could you have set the synthesizer to "no speech" or the output device to something which doesn't currently exist?

Failing all that, could you send a copy of your NVDA log to info@... with a description please?  You should find it in your %temp% folder.

The issue with iTunes doesn't have anything to do with using a screen
reader or not, it is that two of my recently purchased songs have
disappeared from the library with no explanation, and the store is
showing no available downloads.

I'm currently having what I'd consider to be a pretty major problem

with iTunes, so last night I posted it on the Apple support community.

I think the reason I haven't gotten an answer to my question though is

because I posted my question in the wrong forum. The problem is that I

can't seem to post in anything but the default communities. There is a

small number of communities listed on the page where you post your

question, but then there's a more topics button, which when expanded,

opens a modal which I can navigate. However, each topic appears to

have subtopics, but pressing enter on them will not expand those. Does

anyone use this site and if so, how does this work with NVDA? I'd

really like to get this iTunes problem sorted out soon.

I tried unsuccessfully to get ESpeak to work with Hindi, or, for that matter, any other foreign languages. What did you do to get ESpeak to cahnge the language?

But my issue is not that. I get it to work for English.
But when I select Tamil India , which is already added to the Router languages and using the Vani voice, it does not shows the ESpeak voices. ESpeak supports Tamil.
Also, after the recent IOS V16.1.1 I am unable to add any new languages to the ruter. When I select Tamil Sri Lanka or Sinhala Sri Lanka it does nothing, neither adding the language.
I have a 12 Pro with IOS 16.1.1
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

initially, the volume, influxion, pitch everything will be 0.
Pl increase it using some normal people help.
Then we can configure in accessibility/voice over/speech settings.
