In what context does this occur. Obviously, nvda responds to what the

application is doing to control this. If you have echo keys as they are

typed on on some dodgy web sites I've noticed it saying p star a star etc,

when the keyboard repeat should be off. I have not seen this on good

software or web sites. s. Some web sites allow you to toggle speaking of

passwords on and off of course, and there is I think an nvda add on that

allows you to hear passwords.After all if you are alone and want to make

sure you typed it correctly, why not? Thus I think in order to answer your

question we would need to know the specific case when its happening and you

think it should not so others can test it.

Hi, Gene,
I was using internet explorer. When I tried to download the file in my external hard drive, I got a message saying it couldn't be downloaded. I also tried to see if I could save it to my downloads folder but that didn't work either. I know it's a very large file.

If it was, then that would be very uncommon.  It may be that, just having been announced, a lot of people, far more than usual, tried to download the file at the same time.  But I'm skeptical because we heard no reports from others and if there were such an issue, we would expect to see people talking about how slow the download is or that they couldn't do so.  Therefore, I'm very skeptical.

It might be a a bandwidth issue. its a very slow connection and a very large
file. Its only running at 1.2meg a second here with long pauses as it goes
along.

The tutorial is about 560 MB (uncompressed).

I can add a file that describes topics discussed and upload it as part of
the zip file, but this means everyone must download the file again, which
means precious bandwidth (well, some will need to download the file
again).

As for putting up links to my website: I'd advise against that, as the
site
may disappear someday, there might be a new location for tutorials and
such.

I just downloaded your tutorials in the zip file and apart from the last
couple of files they were named and the other ones had section. but did
not
say what they covered unless you go to the website.



Would it be possible to put into the zip file either in or html what
they
refer to like on the website of yours.



I know i could easy do it my self but then every one would have to do it

if they want to know what the files refer to.



If it was done by you every one that downloaded the zip file would have
the
either or html file to refer to.



I was just thinking if some one burned your tutorials onto a disk with a
copy of nvda and gave it away.

They might not have internet access and would not know what sections
cover
with out the file.

And listening to the whole lot.


If the file is html they can as you know just jump down by headings then
refer on the html file to which mp3 file it points to.

The issue has to do with coding mistakes, which should be fixed now. For this and other reasons, you should NOT use snapshots unless it is necessary.
