Subject: [nvda] Weather Plus 4.4 01.08.2017 update available

Hi to every one,
Changes in this version
• Added Polish translation (thanks to Zvonimir Staneczyć).
• Weather Plus it's now compatible also for future wx version 4;
Note: at the moment with wx version 4.0.0b1 msw (phoenix) generates an annoying error when using the vertical arrows in many edit boxes:
wxAssertionError: C++ assertion "Assert failure" failed at ....srccommonevtloopcmn.cpp(110) in wxEventLoopBase::Yield(): wxYield called recursively.
Weather Plus it can auto-update, but you can also download it from:
Direct download:
http://www.nvda.it/system/files/plugin/weather_plus4.4.nvda-addon?download=1
or from page:
http://www.nvda.it/weather-plus/
or from page:
https://addons.nvda-project.org/addons/weatherPlus.en.html
Derek, or who for you, it is not necessary to update the link to this page.
Thanks.
Cheers
Adriano

Hi don,

I hear ya man. Perhaps they will add additional functionality to it in
a future release as the developers receive feedback. BTW, were you able
to get the links to read on web pages the right way?

Rather than someone send you the zip file, be a bit more independent and download a Next snapshot from a week ago, create a portable copy and go into the waves folder and listen to them. I have them on my computer. If you don’t know how to do this, ask on the group.

perhaps similarly to the way addons work.

So the short answer is yes, we've reverted to the old sounds and that
is
what will be in 2017.3, but it doesn't mean we've abandoned the idea.

Regards.

we can't download these, yes I am perfectly aware we can have
audiothemes
addons and such but we need a way to download soundpacks, and have
schemes,
and we can choose what does what.

Obviously I don't want to many sounds when doing admin stuff but on my
own
system, well thats another story.

i did not like the sound of the new ones.

in a funny sort of way the old sound is like the trade mark of nvda.

Re: POS SYSTEM

Brian's Mail list account

I think they meant that assuming no stupidity it has the potential to be accessible grin
Interesting as when I read this query my mind went to Windows embedded and point of sale ready, versions.
Certainly nvda worked well with the xp version of this in the main but as ever the apps running on a bespoke system have to be written accessibly and of course speakers need to be on the system to hear it!

What's the basis for saying "it's written in PHP which means it's about as
accessible as you can get"?

Surely it's possible to write inaccessible programs in any language, so until
you see how well something works, the language it's written in is no guide to
how accessible it is?

Just doing a quick google search for opensource pos systems, the very

It's written in php, which means it's about as accessible as you can
get, and if it doesn't work for you, then you are more than welcome to
change it so that it does. Doesn't get any better than that.
It uses mysql for it's backend, but there's nothing preventing you from
using another database if you want/need to.

Dear Friend,

I have one question.

Related to Poinst of Sale System (POS System. ).
Is NVDA tried with POS System? If so, can I get a list of POS System
accessible with NVDA.

POS System is used in company or shop.

For blind people in malaysia, we want to introduce the POS System for
those in the massage shop for keep data.
