I must admit, on Windows 10, I also use the built in Defender from Microsoft.  This question does come up regularly though, so here are my notes from the last round of conversations on this earlier this year:

There are several anti-virus programs which are accessible with NVDA and some which are partly accessible:

Windows Defender comes with Windows 10 from Microsoft and is accessible.

One user, David Goldfield, has written a comprehensive review of Kaspersky Anti-Virus: https://davidgoldfield.wordpress.com/2016/11/16/kaspersky-antivirus-a-review-for-screen-reader-users/

Another user, Gene, has put together a whole site of information and suggestions, including for anti-virus: http://accessibilitycentral.net/nvda_road_tested_programs.html

Sonos is another anti-virus which has been recommended by some of our users: https://www.sophos.com/lp/sophos-home.aspx

If anyone checks those and finds the information out of date, or has others to add, please do chime in!

It sounds like the Keeper Password Manager app, which there are reports of having installed as part of Creators Update on some machines.  I can't find it on my own machine nor my partner's.  

If you do a web search on "Keeper Password Manager" and "Creators Update" you'll see the various discussions.

I think if that does not work then its the problem I suggested. I've never seen this issue myself though fixing it is the reason why xp support was suddenly dropped as the only fix meant you could not easily keep supporting the older systems.

Might be interesting to know whether the Master branch still exhibits this, though I'm not sure if the fix has got there as yet. I'm experiencing some serious issues with installing updates to nvda recently with locking up on restart and lots of strange errors duing copying files on portable versions as well.

That isn't a new problem. It has been in existence for quite some time. I don't know how far bac it goes. Browse mode doesn't work properly, if at all. Tab works whether you are in browse mode or not. Restart Firefox to solve the problem.

Start the latest stable NVDA, open the latest Firefox, restart NVDA, try to arrow through the Firefox page. The arrow keys don’t work, just the tab key.

I did read the chat on that bug report but its often hard to interpret why they cannot fix something in an older version. I have no idea why they could not back port it in this case, maybe our usage is not such a big issue to them to have to do a lot of coding, who knows?

The webbie ones seem to work well, even a normal search if you make it carefully can bring up all sorts of goodies so whatever pad downloader you get can normally allow you to paste in any podcast addresses manually.
Its not rocket science, unless that is you want a podcast about Rocket science!
