Re: How should I read the parameter information of each method in Visual Studio?
Luke Robinett
Good catch! I’m a Visual Studio user as well and it would be handy if this feature was screen reader accessible. Another long-standing issue which I have discussed in the past is when navigating an IntelliSense menu in the code editor, instead of just hearing the selected item as you arrow up or down, you hear the entire line of code and then the menu item each time. This makes the feature almost useless.

Hi Eric,

Your best bet would be to do a nvda key +f and see if NVDA gives you that information. If it does not, grab jaws and explore. I am not sure what setting will work but I have found Jaws to handle such cases better. Pranav

I don’t use macros, but until profiles can work with specific dictionaries,
is there a simple macro program that can be used to conveniently switch
dictionaries when desired? for example, a macro that will rename the
default diction ary file to default1.dic, then rename the desired file to
default.ddic for current use? then, when you want to switch back, the name
changes can be reversed?

NVDA Hi. If you are referring to the possibility to create dictionaries assigned to specific configuration profiles, this is not yet possible with NVDA. However, you can create default dictionaries which are used in all contexts, dictionaries specific to different voices, and temporary dictionaries to use during an NVDA session, which will be removed when NVDA is exited.

You mean, KitchenInc’s does exist? It works for win ten? I played it with win xp. Also with 7. It worked better with xp.

The reason I bought the Sapi5 version of Eloquence is so I could use it with both NVDA as well as with Narrator. I really like Eloquence and its snappiness, and now I can use it no matter which screen reader I am using. Chris

Re: Voices With NVDA Question Please.

I believe the default language on my computer is English (US), but I like the voices in the English (Canada) pack better. I was able to use them when I installed NVDA on a family member's computer, but I couldn't find them on my own computer until I figured out how to install other voice packs through the Windows settings.

No they have not, and they probably never will. We’ve brought this up on the android side, and the windows side a lot of times.

I used to use Elloquence until I upgraded to Windows7 when the version of Kurzweil1000 was not compatible. What I would llike to know, have they improved Elloquence so that it doesn’t keep dropping down in pitch when you get a lonb piece of text without any punctuation.

Re: How to update speech dictionary entries and configuration profiles on a portable version of NVDA?
If memory serves the easiest way, given what you want to accomplish, is just to create a fresh portable copy using the currently installed version, with all its dictionaries and add-ons getting "packaged with it" as a part of that. And this is simple enough to do to test out my memory:
1 Hit NVDA + N, T, C [NVDA Main Menu, Tools, Create Portable Copy] 2. In the dialog that comes up, either browse to or directly enter the folder in which you want that portable copy created. This can be the drive letter with backslash for the root folder of a portable drive, e.g., G:\ 3. Make sure the checkbox for Copy current user configuration is checked. 4. Optional. If you wish to immediately begin testing the behavior of the portable copy, check the Start the new portable copy after creation checkbox. 5. Hit the Continue button. Wait while the portable copy is created. You will receive a success dialog when it's done. Activate the OK button in that dialog -- Brian - Windows 10, 64-Bit, Version 21H1, Build 19043 Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity. ~Martin Luther King, Jr.

How to update speech dictionary entries and configuration profiles on a portable version of NVDA?
Luke
Hi! I put a portable version of NVDA on a thumb drive about a year ago . I have no problem updating the NVDA version itself and add ons on the portable version. On the installer version of NVDA I have on my windows 10 desktop I have added entries to the speech dictionary and have made a few minor changes to the main configuration profile I use. I want my portable version updated with those changes. Do I simply make a new portable version, or can I update the existing portable version I already have, or is there another way? Thanks!

LAMBDA add-on 1.3.1 released
#addonrelease
Iván Novegil
Hi all.
Finally, LAMBDA add-on v1.3.1 stable has been released, including compatibility with NVDA 2021.1 as its only change. This update won't be posted, at least by authors, on the community add-ons website, so it must be downloaded from the following link: https://nvda-addons.org/files/get.php?file=lambda Direct link: https://github.com/lambda-nvda/lambdaNvda/releases/download/latest/lambda.nvda-addon It is also available a package with complete filename (no other
differences):
https://github.com/lambda-nvda/lambdaNvda/releases/download/1.3.1/lambda-1.3.1.nvda-addon This release comes after no errors were reported with 1.3.1-dev,
which has been posted in GitHub for a month.
