The only thing I like with Ableton Live is that you can transform an audio track to a midi track. Don't know if there's an equivalent plugin/reaper feature

Hi, I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask. No,  it isn’t free. Yes, it does work with NVDA. However, someone can better answer you on that. I don’t use it.  I think that program has a free 30 day trial. I could be lying. If you try it. You can’t use all its features until you pay.  If there is a free trial I suggest you try it in the meantime before someone answers you.  If you do end up trying the free trial. You find it doesn’t work then get rid of it before your trial runs out.  You won’t loose the show.  If you find it does work then you can pay for it.

I couldn't find anything on its accessibility, but I did find a couple of forum posts asking for help making it accessible, so it may not be.

I'm not sure if that does what you need or has any of the same features as ableton, but just thought I'd mention it.

Hello there,

The only restriction that Reaper gives without you purchasing it is a window that you can close after four seconds on first start of the software per session that basically says that Reaper is not free, and that you should purchase it because that would help them greatly.

Except that, Reaper can be used without buying a license as far as I know, I am using it without a problem, and I’ve had it for more than a year.

21.2 19.441387 build released today.

 

This had the windows installer fix.

 

I have however noticed a small issue which isn't an issue as such

because I can get round it easy enough.

 

Its just when I select the first item in the start menu ie hitting down

arrow from search I get all apps, then you get the programs starting

with punctuation like & or *, etc well that group does not read but the

items in it do and can be executed.

 

When colapsing a group it seems I get jumpped back to the top of the

list as well.

 

Again not a real big huge issue since I mostly search anyway but just

wandered if anyone has noticed.

 

I have not had any other issues in fact things seem a bit more stable,

For many years, the trend has been to eliminate status bars in more programs to leave more room for conten or for other functions in the window.
I’m not saying that there are no programs with status bars higher on the screen so NVDA isn’t aware of them but the trend you are talking about means that fewer programs have status lines.

Not that I'm aware of.  I always used the technique that Eduardo mentions.

I need to check if there's a GitHub ticket about making it such that if you've started NVDA with Add-Ons Disabled that Add-On Manager would offer you a way to selectively re-enable one or more during that session.  There could be a very good reason this functionality doesn't exist, or it could be that it's never been asked for.

It would be very handy to replicate what's called a clean boot process under Windows, where you "eliminate by halves"  and keep re-enabling in chunks until something breaks again.

I’m delighted to announce the immediate release of two add-on updates (manual install for now):

These releases pack major changes including:

• Clock: user interface messages should be more friendly, resolved several bugs related to stopwatch and timer announcements, changed the location of alarm setup dialog (now found in NVDA tools menu).
• StationPlaylist: initial (albeit limited) support for Studio 6, localization updates.

 

NOTE: these releases are second to last releases of these add-ons under my maintenance, with the last ones scheduled for January 2022. Also note that Add-on Updater will not offer 21.11 releases yet.
