Re: supressing announcement of row and column in a web table

If you mean by recognition, that using the letter t won’t work, it has
nothing to do with that. All such settings are for spoken announcements
and all movement commands wwork as they did before. For example, I can
turn off if I turn off heading announcements and all movement by heading
commands still work.

I saw that item but thought it would disable the recognition of
tables, and I didn't want that, as I need to find the table and then navigate my chosen column. Guess I should have just tried it first rather than assuming. The add-on should still work, but it's probably easiest now to simply recommend installing the beta - because of our continuous alpha branch which seems well tested by a number of users, the beta version is generally pretty stable - and of course if there IS an issue, then it's important we find out about it (and once you run it and check for updates, the SSL error should be fixed so even if you needed to revert to 2021.2, the check for updates bug at least should be fixed. Re: supressing announcement of row and column in a web table

If you turn off everything regarding tables, you shouldn’t hear such
information. Let us know if you do. And if you still do, please send
the link to the page so others can see what they hear, unless the page can’t be
looked at by people in general.
I’m not sure the table off commands always work properly. Sometimes,
I hear table information when I am in a subfolder in Windows Explorer when I
shouldn’t. That’s in Windows 7, so it may be that for some reason, turning
off that information may not work in the table you are in. This may need
further checking by others.

I can stop the readout of the heading messages by temporarily shutting off the reporting of headings in the nvda settings for elements grouping. I also turned off the reading of column and row headings, although that didn't do anything, and I can't find a way to stop the announcement of row and column numbers either. Have a look under the document formating section /menu then go down to tables and uncheck that box it will stop that. It will just read as normal. I think it is in the beta release you can use a gesture to turn it on and off when required if set. Maybe it could of been in there earlier. Gene nz

Re: braille code
Quentin Christensen
You can set NVDA's Braille tables for input and output, as well as other options, on the "Braille" settings page. Press NVDA+control+g, then control+tab to Braille, and tab through the options. NVDA uses LibLouis for our Braille tables, and you can find out more about LibLouis from their site (which also links to their GitHub site): http://liblouis.org/ Kind regards Quentin. I do not think an add on is necessary. When I am on a letter I am not sure of, I press the 2 on the numpad twice, quickly. So if I am on the letter b and press numpad 2 twice quickly, nvda will say bravo.
