on their web platform, I didn't find the option to turn on

While there are definitely some instances where I personally prefer an app, when it comes to dealing with things such as Netflix, I generally find it much easier to log in to their websites and use their webpages than Windows-based apps. What is the advantage to a Windows-based app in this specific instance? -- Brian - Windows 10, 64-Bit, Version 21H1, Build 19043 I do not understand why some seek to separate a person from their actions. Hi all,
does anybody use Netflix app for Windows 10? How does it work with NVDA? Is it possible to activate reading titles inside the app? Kind regards, Tea Turkovic

Re: JavaScript events related to Screen reader virtual cursor

Hi Niranjan, Thanks for the point. I can confirm this was considered and the notification is focusable with tab (though in a little different manner). I have done some part of research and probably it will not go as I have thought, it will all come down to advocacy now. Thanks, Vaibhav

May be they should have to give focus to the parent element that is holding the entire content of toast notification. May be they can try to give tabindex="0" attribute to the parent element. You can verify the behavior of the toast notification whether it is correctly focusable or not by pressing tab key on your keyboard. Note that if you can access the notification using the virtual curser or browse mode, that doesn't mean that the notification is focusable. You should switch to the focus mode & then use the tab key to navigate to the notification. If it is not accessible, That means they have to use the tabindex="0" attribute on the parent element to make it focusable. Or may be you can tell them to make it accessible as soon as it is appear on to the page.

For something as complex as Reaper, a group like Reapers Without Peepers is absolutely invaluable. Were anyone to wish to have a brief discussion of Reaper with NVDA, where Reaper is the focus, that's what the Chat Subgroup is for. I figure that a very great many here know even better than I do that they're about to start a discussion where NVDA happens to be the screen reader being used, but it's not the screen reader that's really being discussed, it's just the access method. -- Brian - Windows 10, 64-Bit, Version 21H1, Build 19043 I do not understand why some seek to separate a person from their actions. I pulled it a part down to the source code, and there are no email addresses. Just tag for spot if filled in and there not. Even printing the page out still just gives the same info.

Still needs a lot of work. Just using the defaults tabbing around does move but don't ever shift+tab or your blowing up all over the place. Also its error sometimes read and mostly don't. The gamebar is still more accessible.

eSpeak Speech Player
Hi.
what ever happened to the eSpeak Speech Player? I always found it a little easier to understand than the stock eSpeak NG. For that matter, what coding knowledge and experience would someone require if they wanted to try to fiddle with the sound of eSpeak, come up with a modified English variant etc.? Thanks chris

Without ignoring our moderator's throat clearing (smile) I can say that I can think of a couple of ways one might do this in reaper, and would be happy to see and participate in such a discussion on a forum there. Alternatively, I wonder if you couldn't design a hot key set in one of the hot key programs like AutoHotKeys or whatever the more recent implementation of such would be; I've not kept up with the state of this art. Have you consider updating the driver download to the latest on the website when NVDA 2021.1 is released? Many people try to find it all the time, especially people who aren't subscribing to this list.

Phonetic Pronunciation for Vernacular Languages
Sanjog Kumawat
Hello,
I am using NVDA 2020.4 and Windows 10 Home. Few days back, there was a discussion on phonetic description of a character and how NVDA can announce the character and it’s phonetic pronunciation. I was using the shortcut NVDA + . (fullstop) twice to hear the phonetic pronunciation. The shortcut and the “Enhanced Phonetic Reading” add-on is working fine everywhere when it comes to English.
However, NVDA fails to report the phonetic pronunciation/description of a letter typed in Hindi or Marathi except when typed in Microsoft Word. I am using Office 365. When I write anything in Notepad for example, NVDA does not report the phonetic pronunciation. It used to report in the older versions like 2020.1. What could be the reason? Is there anything I can do that will solve this problem?
Regards, Sanjog Kumawat
