I know one of the big bruhahas they had was over the name Freedom Box. They had to stick with System Access. Retarded if you ask me.

Hi.
I’m considering purchasing a synth add-on for nVDA. Thing is, those pauses are supposed to be removable via the editing of an .ini file, and, indeed, they are. I guess this is not a big deal

Re: Vocalizer expressive
Kate is available in the addon from CodeFactory.
Eloquence isn't very good in that addon, but the CodeFactory Vocalizer works great in my experience.

Yeah…it’s such a pain, and seems blatantly to disregard the user/customer’s wishes.

Yes. I guess making backups of every file I change is sensible practice. Not
even necessarily so I can fix something I break myself by accident, but so
it's easier to set right what MS puts wrong.

Tiflotecnia's Vocalizer worked quite well actually, but one historic complain that I have is that for certain languages (especially Asian languages like Thai) the synth won't read certain characters

It depends on the licence really. If they have made it a global synth then you are quite free to use it, but hacking a driver to use a restricted copy, say from Dolphin or other maker is probably not
