Google Docs is very accessible with NVDA. I use Docs a lot, to produce well formatted documents. If you use Google’s commands to navigate, you will have a great experience. Let me know what you need

Why not buy a USB sound card, and then set NVDA to speak through the sound card so that way the speech will not interfere with whatever you are using the main sound card for?
