Okay let me give an example. I just wrote okay let me give an example when I put the period it spoke that as dot and not period. That is what I want changed.

As Sarah has mentioned, it depends on how and when you want a given thing pronounced. NVDA, like most complex software, is highly configurable, but you (or I, when advising) have to know exactly

I believe some of this can be found in settings. For example hit nvda p to get your symbol level, and for the dot instead of period go to the dictionary settings. I believe some of this was discussed

You can change what NVDA says for any punctuation or symbol in the Punctuation and Symbols settings, NVDA+N,P,P. I presume you mean the period at the end of a sentence, in which case the very first
