Re: Changing speech rate not working
Try the insert key on the keyboard; maybe that'll work. Or maybe your keyboard just can't do it.
To reassign the gesture, go to the NVDA menu, Preferences, Input gestures. Find it in there and

That is true up to a point. But NVDA key describer doesn't read many combinations of keys in a useful manner. It has nothing to do with whether it recognizes the keys. Try shift dash or shift

Was it NVDA or the synthesizer? It would be good to test with a different synthesizer as an easy way to see.

Re: NVDA Crashing while reading Word document
Thanks, Sarah,
I did not know about the temp folder. Very useful. I can see the old NVDA log now. Of course, that one is not the one with the crash in it which was quite a few reloads of NVDA ago.

Try using caps lock instead of insert, or the other insert key.
Some keyboards aren't capable of registering certain combinations of keys, and yours might be one of them.

Re: NVDA Crashing while reading Word document
I had this very same problem with Word documents some weeks ago. Now and then, I still run into such problems but cannot replicate a log.

The two topics on CCleaner from today have been merged. Also, insofar as the conversation is about using CCleaner itself, that should occur on the Chat Subgroup.

Hi . . . Do you mean like that disk clean up utility that Windows 10 has? I've used it before with NVDA, and it works pretty good.

Re: Changing speech rate not working
I'm usinng the laptop keyboard setup on my desktop computer. ctrl+insert+shift+up makes it faster, but ctrl+insert+shift+down does nothing. Is there a change I need to do?
Thanks.
