somehow I changed a setting so when I hit space bar and insert key at the same time it switches from brouse mode to focus and I can't figure out how to make it stop?

I wasn't sure what commands you were discussing before. Now, I'll comment on them: You shouldn't have turned off insert +keyboard 6 carrot moves review cursor toggle on/off, and insert + keyboard

There's an install NVDA option in the tools menu. You can use that, or if you already have it installed, just copy the contents of portable directory\userconfig to %appdata%\nvda.

I can't tell what you are describing. You can use either insert, the numpad insert or the other insert but you must use the keys on the numpad for hearing what we are discussing. Gene

That's a different command. Numpad 8, just numpad 8 announces the current line of the current object. If your application cursor is on the line of the subject line, numpad 8 will speak it. Numpad 8
