Gene, some sites if you visit them with IE. You are told that this site is not supported. So I go to it using Chrome or edge and it does work.

Can you try installing it from community add-ons website instead of using Add-on Updater? If you can install it from addons.nvda-project.org, chances are that it might be an Add-on Updater

Windows-b brings you to the systemtray where the NVDA icon is located. Just press space on it and the NVDA menu will open.
