The other thing to note is that column headers are only announced as you move left or right (between columns), and row headers are only announced as you change rows. If you have column headers set

For some reason, it isn't recognized as a link by my e-mail program and I suspect that is why it doesn't work unless you copy and paste it into the browser. there are no settings to change, you just

NVDA key + letter N, arrow down to preferences, and use right arrow key to expand it to then let

Are you using add-ons? Try restarting NVDA with add-ons disabled and see if that makes a huge difference.

What I find works well if Enter doesn’t work is to tab to the link and use the apps key or shift f10 then you can either arrow left/right to open the link or even copy the link to the clipboard.
