I’m trying to figure out what is going on. We use style-based numbering, meaning that different levels produce automatic numbering (like statutes with subsections, paragraphs, and sub paragraphs).

I remember windows 8. All I can say is, yuck! I didn't use nvda at the time so can't speak to that, but yeah. Yuck city.

If you disable focus highlight, does everything still automatically go to focus mode?
I just had a quick look and it seems fine here, although I realised when you mentioned you are using v6, that I am

If they had, they wouldn't have made so many people annoyed or angry. Windows 8 was a poorly designed version of Windows that few people liked.

If i remember right in the whats new in the beta snap shots there is mention of support for newer versions of it.
This is coming out in NVDA 2019 that it says it.

Sorry, I was talking about hosting my own remote server when talking about the firewall - I wasn't clear there.
With the addon, you can have any machine that the addon is installed on act as a remote

related to this, any time info such as version numbers is required, I start up NVDA's speach viewer (in the tools menu) so whatever is spoken aloud can be copied and pasted from the speech viewer
