I was going to point this out. That said,
I have found a periodic use for beeps speech mode, when performing a long, automated process in which NVDA is chatty, and wanting to be able to walk away from the computer and know when the process is done, but not be bothered by speech.
For example: encoding a large mpeg file, updating certain applications, etc. In these cases, the periodic beeps let me know something is still happening, without being overly distracting as speech would be.
As a consequence, I have stopped using the add-on

In this particular case, there may be some value to knowing that NVDA is trying to tell you something it thinks is meaningful during a Skype call, without actually having to be distracted with the resultant speech.

There is also the option of using NVDA Sleep Mode, the
toggle for which is NVDA+Shift+S (desktop keyboard layout) or Z (laptop).  But once you do this NVDA is off, completely off, without being shut down.
...within the app in which the command is performed. Other apps and services will still speak.

Hi. I have to delete the browsing data from Microsoft Edge occasionally. I was instructed to do so by the technical support for my banking website when it wouldn't work correctly. I noticed that deleting the browsing data also deleted the login information for all of the websites I use, so I had to complete the extra security steps, which in some cases aren't very accessible.

Hello,

2021.1 is an add-on-breaking release. It is hoped that add-on authors will update their add-ons, but any information regarding specific add-ons will come from the authors of that add-on. I would suggest possibly reaching out to them, or asking on the add-ons list, although I would hope that additional information will be provided to this group regarding popular add-ons in time as well.

Thanks.

I just thought I'd throw in my $0.02 here for what it's worth. I don't
notice any performance issues if I don't clear everything for several
months, but I do it once in a while just because. I've been
considering doing that with Firefox here recently, but it would be the
first time it's been completely cleared in the two years I've had it,
though only four months of that has been as a primary browser.

And, if you're someone like me, who has never found the "Beep Speech" mode to be of any use, you can install the add-on:

NoBeepsSpeechMode

which removes that option and causes NVDA+S to toggle strictly between speech on and speech off.

There is also the option of using NVDA Sleep Mode, the toggle for which is NVDA+Shift+S (desktop keyboard layout) or Z (laptop).  But once you do this NVDA is off, completely off, without being shut down.  You must toggle again to bring it back.

Hi,

I'm afraid that there aren't any, but I really hope that the accessibility of LibreOffice with NVDA will be improved in the future, because more and more blind users are choosing this suite as this is a very good free alternative to MS-Office. Unfortunately this doesn't depend on the NVDA's developpers only.

Ciao.

Re: Strange behaviour of Google Chrome

You are stating as beliefs, things that are factually incorrect except in specific cases. The generalizations are not true as generalizations. And they are never true regarding book marks. Book marks don't have anything to do with how fast a page loads. And if you don't have book marks, you are actually taking longer to load pages some of the time. I can book mark not only the home page of a site if I want, but any page on the site I want. I often book mark a page that contains specific information or material I may want to refer to again or read all of if I have read part of it and want to return. I can use history for the same thing, but book marks may be faster and more convenient. Also, if I keep book marks, since they don't slow page loading down, if I do clear history at some point because it may be slowing page loading, the book marks are still present.
I really don't feel like typing every address of every page I want to go to every time I want to open that page, which I have previously visited.

If history becomes too large and/or if the cache becomes too large, that may slow page loading. But they have to become large. I don't delete the cache nor history except if I notice slowness of performance and one or both are large. I delete whatever I think may be large enough to impact performance, not both at once without considering when I deleted history or the cache last.

Deleting the cache before it grows too large may actually cause some pages to load a little more slowly, though I think the difference would be slight on a reasonably fast broad band connection.

how much ram do you have?
i read that google chrome is very intensive in using system resources.
i believe that you need at least 8 gb of ram to use chrome properly.
i really dont like and cant accept chrome and never use it.
my laptop has only 2.5 gb of ram!

Hello.

I don't know, why, but Google Chrome sometimes behave very strange on My
computer. For example, I am working on Google Chrome and sometimes there
is something, like later echo. Not often, but sometimes. I don't know why.

For example, I am writing on Google chrome and sometimes It says later
key, which I pressed, not at same time. I don't know, how to explain It
better, because I am not English native speaker.

Can I fix this problem?

Thank You.

I don't know what you read or where, but that isn't true.
I run it using 4GB of RAM, using Windows 7 and either it, or Google based browsers, and they run fine. I also have plenty of RAM to run what else I run. It may be that there are problems involving RAM. I don't know. There may be a memory leak, for example so using Google for long periods may cause it to use increasing amounts of RAM or maybe having a lot of tabs opened may use a lot of RAM, I don't know. But any browser requiring 8GB of RAM wouldn't be widely used..

In addition, it is generally stated that computers of today, running Windows 10 should have 8GB of RAM as the minimum, though you can use less.

I just checked. When I have Chrome opened and a web page loaded in one tab, my memory use, when few other programs are running is somewhere around 58 percent. If I close Chrome, it goes down to about 52 percent.

I honestly do not know.  I hope that someone else may.

That being said, there are many Chromium-based web browsers to choose from besides Google Chrome if that's the one you like and are used to.  Brave, Edge, and Vivaldi are but three, and there are others.  Consider giving one of the alternatives a go to see if it does not misbehave in the way that Chrome is.
