I just want rid of her address because I am not working with this person.  Not wanting to block her.

Arlene,

Are you asking how to purge an e-mail address from your Contacts?   If so, that's the People app that works hand-in-hand with the Mail App.   If you mean blocking mail from a given address I have no idea whether the Mail App supports that or not.

Hi,
If you give me the cities zip codes that disappear and describe me step by step what you do to insert them in the list and save them, I could try to reproduce the  problem.
Also paste the log, you never know who can find us.

Thanks

But for some obscure reason, some users continue to report errors from 6.2 to 6.4.
I'm pretty sure that these users, who use stable nvda versions (which have the error sound disabled) have 2 versions of Weather_Plus installed, one still in penginginstall, because for some reason the installation of an update has failed.

Re: Synthesizer languages with NVDA?

Zahra,
The espeak tries to read Arabic if you select Arabic from the NVDA's voice settings, However, It is extremely hard to understand the accent. I am a native speaker of Arabic and I can understand some words, but not entire sentences. So far the espeak is not a reliable option for those who want to have access to Arabic using NVDA. The best and most reliable option is to buy Acapela or vocalizer. I personally prefer the vocalizer. It is inexpensive, and very light, and the automatic language switching is almost perfect.

Ibrahim

Ibrahim Ajayi

Hi good people:
This is not an issue with NVDA. It is one with google drive, which I
believe some members of this group use.
The problem I have with the program is that when I launch it, it
doesn't open on my computer.
I've downloaded the latest version of the program several times, using
different browsers, particularly the latest Google Chrome data.
When I launch the app, I hear task bar and that is all. Now when I
finish doing other things, and I am shutting down the computer, that
is when I hear "welcome to backup and sync not responding:"
I just don't understand what this problem is all about, and why the
program cannot just open.
What can I do about this problem.
I use Windows 7 32Bit.
The problem is not with the browser, because I've tried it out on
different browsers.
And it is also not with my antivirus program because I use Microsoft
security essential, which has it's firewall turned off.
I don't want to believe that this problem is peculiar to me alone.
Hope to read a response.
From Ibrahim.

Vocalizer has many none latin script based languages like Hebrew and Arabic. It is not free but not expensive. I think the price is close to 100 euros. If you buy the vocalizer you can download the voices for free.

Re: Synthesizer languages with NVDA?

Heather,

It's not really NVDA synthesizers, per se, but synthesizers that can be used with NVDA.   Since you can't divorce the reading from a screen reader, the question is definitely on-topic.  That being said, it's a function of the synthesizer itself, not NVDA.

Someone will know which options support the two languages you note, plus many more.  Egyptian and Saudi Arabic as well as Hebrew are supported by Microsoft's OneCore synth, which one can definitely use with NVDA.   If you want to check out other languages that might be with this synth, and you're a Windows 10 user, you can go to Settings, Time & Language, Language Pane, and activate the Add a language button then search on the languages of interest.  If they are supported for anything an entry will be returned, and then you have to check that the text-to-speech attribute is present for that language.

And, Sarah, how old are you now?   [That question is rhetorical.]

What was a common attitude with the technology of 20 years ago is not at all that common these days.

And with that, I am bringing this topic to a close, as it's not really NVDA related.   I will, however, reiterate my previous advice:  When you get what you think are false positives, check out what virustotal.com has to say, and if the conclusion is that it is a false positive report to your own scanner's support that it's kicking a false positive.  They do happen and it's via reports of the same that they get fixed.

This topic is now locked.
