Hi there.

as I was using Jaws 2018.1712, I came across something pretty strange.

Jaws couldn't recognize Java access Bridge at all. I did everything and

installed it correctly. but as I hit Java control panel in my Control panel,

it wasn't able to recognize and support the window.

simultaneously, there was nothing wrong with NVDA. it could easily recognize

the JAB. then, I had access to another cracked version of Jaws 2018, and

fortunately, it solved the problem. as I went ahead and updated my windows to

version 1903 and Jaws to that of 2019 March update. unfortunately, the same

problem took place again. I updated Jaws 2019 to April version. but the same

problem was still there. I should also mention that I had updated Java to the

latest version before I updated my windows 10 to version 1903. just like

before, there's no problem with NVDA 2019.1.1, it can easily recognize Java

access bridge. but Jaws can't. It does seem strange to me. I'll be grateful,

if you share your great and useful experiences with me.

all the best.

Take care.

Removing items from a table with NVDA

Hi,
So, is there a way of removing an item from a table using NVDA?
That is, I have a table. I want to select an item from this table and remove it - in other words, edit the table.

Thanks a lot.

What changes have you made to your proofreading profiles?
I just tried now and I could read the number associated with the style, even with a manually activated profile.

Also, are you using any add-ons?

I can't think what else it might be.

Re: Has anyone else noticed a change in the behavior of Focus Highlight?

Focus Highlight is changed in version 6.0, to address the issue with
NVDA 2019.2.

https://github.com/nvdajp/focusHighlight/issues/13

I understand it is confusing for the users of previous versions,
however, the new behavior is more straightforward and consistent, in
my opinion.

Up until very recently, virtually everything generally defaulted to being in browse mode when I opened it, generally with the "thick red line" which indicates that you're in browse mode and the navigator object and focus object are one and the same. This was particularly true when I landed on File Explorer (as a whole) and items in the list which I display using Details View. It was also generally true in many other places.

For the last few days, everything seems to be opening in focus mode that used to be opening in browse mode, and what's weirder is I can't get the mode to toggle. I was trying to play with doing a multi-file select with individual files in File Explorer, and could not get NVDA+space to shift me back to focus mode so I could select, move along then CTRL+select (spacebar), etc.

Even the buttons in dialogs are shown as being in focus mode when I land on them, e.g., the Winver Close button.

I am running Windows 10, Version 1809, Build 17763.529 and NVDA 2019.1.1 and Focus Highlight 6.0. This is really peculiar, and definitely not what I've been used to.

I didn’t use nvdaremlote.com, I just had the local server host the remote service. I’d need a few more details, your set up of firewalls for example, if you wanted any further help with this. If nobody else has any comments you could email me off list so we’re not cluttering it up.

have anyone get nvdaremote to work on a vps?

e.g from a windows 10 machine

e.g

you have a vps with windows server 2016

you install nvda with the nvdaremote addon

and you connect to it with the windows 10 computer with nvda

good luck to do it annyway
