Yes.  And this is true of PowerShell scripts (.ps1) files, too.   The difference is you do not open them for editing by activating them, which causes them to run.  You select, bring up the context menu, and choose Edit from the context menu.

Just to be clear, I did add the voice (at the creators request) to the Extra Voices page, which is part of the Wiki which others could edit as well: https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/wiki/ExtraVoices

In adding it, I was just sharing the resource on the appropriate page, not explicitly endorsing it.

My initial feeling was this was made by a young creator just getting started.  Certainly I think we'd all appreciate a review on the voice by anyone who does purchase it (both to allay the fears of those concerned, and just because we all like to know what a new voice is like).

Re: NVDA and Dictation Bridge

Hi,

Windows 10 App Essentials does not support Dragon, as it is beyond the scope of Windows 10 apps. The add-on supports dictation because it is a built-in feature of Windows 10 since Version 1709, and it checks for a UIA event to announce dictated text as understood by this feature.

Well I will buy this when I get home but yeah, Not sure because of the .bat file, but depending on what it does later on I may try to see if the author should try to use innosetup.

Currently on holiday so no doodling with buying on semi public hotel networks but if this is lagit and loads to where it needs to go, depending on how complex it is, I may try to make an innosetup package, could do as a good podcast, and then give that to the author or tell them how to use innosetup as I have used this with a lot of things.

From listening on google drive this is certainly something I'd like but right now I am away from my backups and working on a semi public hotel network so I am not doing any shopping or banking or anything

Always pay using Goods and Services when making a payment on Paypal, not Friends and Family, particularly for this kind of thing, include a description of what you are purchasing, and this way, you should be protected by Paypal's buyer and seller protections. Also, if you happen to purchase this voice, please let us know by writing to nvda+owner@nvda.groups.io of your experience, both good or bad. Ordinarily, voices like this are packaged as add-ons, not as .bat files, and, without purchasing the voice, we don't know what the .bat file will do to your system, if anything, and whether the voice is legit. So please take caution, and please let us know if you have purchased it, of your experience, both good and bad. This may be legitimate, and yet it may not.

Re: NVDA not reading books in kindle book viewer

Hi Pranav,

You have found one of those Kindle books that does not support screen readers; it is a Kindle issue, not an NVDA issue. Occasionally, such books will read ok on the iPhone, but sometimes not. So if you have an IOS device, I'd try it there, and otherwise, get a refund from Amazon for a basically inaccessible book. that self voicing thing is a joke and totally not appropriate, I should think, for a technical book such as the one you bought.
