Firefox control buttons+Re: [nvda] Ad blocker for NVDA and Firefox?

Kwork

Here's what I do:

1. When focussed on the address bar, press nvda+up arrow on the numpad to move up an element.

2. Press nvda+numpad right arrow to move through the buttons that the installed extentions have placed.

3. When I find what I want, I press nvda+numpad enter to activate it.

Hope this answers what you asked. I haven't found any other way that works.

That being said, does anyone here know how to get to the various control buttons that are physically located to the right of the address bar, e.g., the Firefox menu button plus all of the buttons that get put there as you add add-ons?   I could swear that I once posted the technique to get to these, but I can find nothing in my own notes.  It has to be possible to navigate to these somehow, but it's not nearly as easy as it is under Chrome.

When I take the mouse over these controls, NVDA definitely announces them, but what I cannot seem to do is find the magic technique to actually throw focus on to any of them.

Hi

I apologise for inserting the article in its entirety.

The article did actually pertain to electronic purchases owned by people thus their property.

It did not say to share or sell.

If you think about it, this could be applied when any alteration to operating systems is done as well.  As the OS such as win7 etc is licensed to not really owned by you, it is their copyright material.  Funny old world.

But I have learned my lesson.

Definitely recommend Ublock Origin.

Hello all,

I’m noticing more and more difficulty doing Google searches and reading websites due to ads and other clutter. Would someone be able to recommend an ad blocker which works well with the latest version of NVDA and Firefox? Perhaps another browser would work better?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Starboy

Thankyou very much for that straight forward info.

I will do that another time as my head is killing me.

See you later.

No, past the text in the email or email nvda support with text and or attachment. Since attachments are not aloud on this list you have no choice but to paste text.

hope that helps.

Re: Converting epub to pdf

By the way, Mr. Steyn is correct that this topic is not in any way directly related to NVDA.

The answer to the question, "Is this about using NVDA to accomplish a task or configuring NVDA itself?," is clearly, "No."  [By the way, I consider questions regarding what program of a given category works together best with NVDA to be "about using NVDA to accomplish a task."]

This is precisely the sort of topic intended for the NVDA Chat subgroup.  If it is to continue, I would ask that whoever wishes to do so start a spin-off topic in the Chat subgroup to do so.

I  was going to look for the keystrokes to open the log viewer, but just couldn't find anything.
Am I missing something here or is it out of the keystrokes reference?

Re: Alex voice from the mac with NVDA?

Devin Prater

There is one that connects to the mac, running a speech server, over the network. It's okay, but it'd require you to have the Mac close to the PC to hear the speech, unless you have a Mac running in a virtual machine which would take up a good bit of RAM.

Yes, numpad and other desktop layout commands still work in the laptop
