I opened the book in kindle and found that a self-voicing component of the

viewer, moving the arrow keys does not help.

I suspect this is a kindle change more than a NVDA bug. Is there any way to
return to NVDA reading the book in the kindle program?
I have other books in my kindle library which read normally.

What is so special about this book? I will send feedback to amazon but am
asking here as well.

Hi Pranav,

You have found one of those Kindle books that does not support screen readers; it is a Kindle issue, not an NVDA issue. Occasionally, such books will read ok on the iPhone, but sometimes not. So if you have an IOS device, I'd try it there, and otherwise, get a refund from Amazon for a basically inaccessible book. that self voicing thing is a joke and totally not appropriate, I should think, for a technical book such as the one you bought.

Joseph,

Will windows app essentials work with dragon  professional? If not, we can discuss off list and you are free to add that support too.

Hi,

The biggest advantages of DictationBridge are support for Dragon and voice commands for NVDA. As far as built-in dictation is concerned, Windows 10 App Essentials will suffice.

Cheers,

Joseph, just to double check (since to be honest, I don't use Dictation myself) - does Windows 10 App Essentials now basically replace Dictation Bridge if using Windows dictation?  Or are there still other features Dictation Bridge provides which Win 10 App Essentials doesn't, but they might not be needed by everyone?

Hi all.

Has anyone noticed that when using NVDA and Dictation Bridge beta, and using Notepad, Text is not repeated when dictated. It does work properly in Word or Outlook but just not Notepad.

Thanks,

Jim

.bat files can contain viruses. I have never seen a nvda voice sold as
a bat file. Be very careful.

Hi,

I personally don't assume now that the seller wants to offer us some
malware or something like that. The batch file will be for registering
the voices for SAPI 5.

I am more bothered by the procedure and the way this software is
offered. To me it sounds very much like RHVoice or a similar technology
like MaryTTS.

I wonder what is in this bat file. Since it is binary, if anyone will get it he/she could read it using notepad for example.

This is weird. Voices for NVDA should packaged as NVDA add-on. The .bat file always needs to run as administrator permission, be cautious what you use here.

I have a feeling that he wants the money for the voice, but not for the

Since we don't know if that's compatible with the license, I'd have a

1.  So am I to understand you're using Gmail via its Basic HTML webmail interface?

2.  Did you restart your machine?  (And I do mean restart, not shut down and power up).

3.  Have you tried starting NVDA with add-ons disabled to see if that makes any difference?

I want a demo, not something I have to purchase, then ask for a return for if I don't want it.  I don't recall ever seeing a voice being sold that doesn't come with a demo.  This is very nonstandard.

I'll modify what I said.  I'm not sure the voice isn't synthesized, but it sounds suspiciously as though it may not be. And the question still remains, why so high quality for a giveaway price?
